Default Playfield cleaning ....... advice ?

Not being lucky enough to own one of Arbys rather brilliant cell cleaning machines......I was wondering how you guys keep your play cells in good clean condition without scratching or damaging the playfield ?

Any advice on cleaning methods or products would be welcome.....( either that our I start looking in Japan for a cleaner ......)

    Cheers

The Sankyo cell cleaner I have (thanks Arby ) is the best. I can completely clean a pachinko cell in less than 10 minutes.
Before I got the cell cleaner I used windex SPARINGLY on a small section (3"x3") of old t-shirt and rolled it around the jaws of a 6" hemostat. I would clean a small section, about 6 square inches, and then start all over again with a new piece of t-shirt. Be very careful that you completely cover the hemostat tips with a few layers of cloth or you will scratch the cell. Try to bunch up the cloth at the tip as this makes it easier to clean the cell and nails. As an alternate to the hemostats you can use a thin needle nose pliers. The hemostats work well because the jaws lock.
Using this method I could clean a cell in about 45 minutes. Just be careful that you do not use too much liquid. NEVER spray the cell, just spray the cloth. This way you will avoid the dreaded water stains on the cell.

Before Cell Pica (Arby's cleaning machine) I used to use a cleaner called "Awsome" that we have at the local dollar stores, either on the end of Q-tips or on small rags at the end of a hemostat, pick a small section, clean, dry and move on to the next spot, after that I would repeat the process with Gel-gloss or Novus #1. I also tried "The Ultimate Scrubber" $14.99 at Bed Bath and Beyond (see my review on this site) but that gave only marginal results. Avg time for a cell was 1-1.5 hours

While the Cell Pica is slightly expensive it will save you tons of time and provides outstanding results.

Well ultimately my target is 8 machines, so I guess I am about at Pica critical mass anyway.......

Better get on to my newly found friends ( thanks Arby ) in Japan......

Have Kiaigumi ask around for you, and if he finds you one, buy extra cans of cleaner for the cans have to be shipped by sea beacuse of the compresion. The big cans go a long way.
the stuff cleans and than waxes the cell face, makes the surface very fast!

If you go this route have Kiaigumi get you extra cans of cleaner.

Looks like a regular scrubbing brush to me. I'll check at the Japanese dollar store and see if they have any of those.
Get two, cleaner on... cleaner off, cleaner on... cleaner off......

yeah..... I thought about a paint brush or something similarly long bristled.... to be honest though I like my gadgets ( dont we all ? ).... I'll probably try to sort the real deal once I get everything sorted out and all the cabs set up etc.....

Oh..... and I work in the compressed cylinder gases business so I know all about the hazardous shipping regs in and out of Japan....... NIGHTMARE !

    I use Helga myself.

Since the Top Gun got here, I'm afraid I've been working her too hard though. She's looking awfully tired.
