    Default Shipping charges

Do the shipping charges for Pachi's on ebay remind anyone of our gas prices or is it just me? I wouldn't doubt if someone were charging $50 that they wouldn't end up with more in the end because people wouldn't feel ripped off. Do you guys agree or am I out in left field?

hmmmmm.......Maybe, but more than likely the seller would lose money on the deal. Prices are down and shipping is up. It would be a gamble for the seller to lower the shipping that much. They would end up losing $30 & up, just on the shipping cost....

packing materials aren't that cheap. some vendors use double boxes or custom packing material. that could run about 20.00 a machine or maybe more.
Plus fuel cost are up for shippers like UPS and Fedex.

For the size and weight of the machines I think 80.00 is fair, 100.00 is a little steep. but bid accordingly

I agree with luckydog, I think I've seen past conversations about this, and the dealers that use the nice custom boxes and packing materials pretty much break even on an 80-90 charge. I would imagine the actual shipping rates are climbing as well now that gas prices are raising.

I guess you don't do any oversize shipping, because it cost more than that most of the time and that doesn't encluded the damn box and all the packing.

You should do some reserch before you type.

Bid on the Total Price. Machine + Shipping. Many times shipping is More than the item but less than the total cost of others. Mike : )

I be in the midwest so my percentage on shipping is better, but think of Left coast to east or East Coast to Way South west.
That right now got to be a killer. http://www.users.qwest.net/~arbycoff...hinegunner.gif

Also sorry if a little harsh yesterday, Going over my UPS bill is looking like the National Debt and they billing me.
You send a 36 x 24 x 20 Box and their machines reads it as 42 x 31 x 27 or any thing around them sizes. Sent 6 boxes and all the same size, But UPS had 6 different size boxes all much over my size and their were literly doubling my cost.
After a phone call I got it strighten out and a credit back, but it is a pain in the butt.
Sent a small box to Canada 5 pounds Cost was almost 19 USD than I get the monthly statement and they charge me almost 13 USD more for fees on brokerage and handling.

Post office would have been better cost, but taken a month or so.

Shipping is becoming a pain in the asz.

Sorry I vent like an old rooster

    Good Sturdy Box $10.00
15 feet of Bubble wrap $5.25
    Extra padding and packing $5.00
    Roll of tape $4.00
Shipping cost from CA to NY for a 60 pound box $42.00
Machine arriving at it's destination intact and working...Priceless

    or the Alternative

Box from the dumpster = free
Peanuts from the dumpster = free along with a nice beer smell
Extra packing material from the dumpster = free
    Roll of tape = 1.00
Shipping from LA to NY $42.00

Joy of talking to Fedex or UPS claims department = Priceless

I'm one of the biggest advocates for not getting ripped on shipping charges but when you are shipping a large heavy item like a pachi you will usually pay more to get a better packing job, most of the pachi sellers are not trying to make extra money on the shipping like some other sellers do to circumvent the ebay fees.

    Rooster with Spaghetti

    2 kilos rooster (approximately)
    2 large onions, grated
    1 garlic
    3/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons butter for the spaghetti
    cinnamon
    cloves, whole and crushed
    nutmeg, grinded
    salt and pepper
    3 large tablespoons tomato puree
    700 gr. spaghetti No. 3
    kefalotyri (hard cheese) grated

Cut the rooster in portions. In a shallow pot pour the oil and sauté the meat then add the onion and the garlic.
Add the salt and pepper, then pour in 3 – 4 glasses of water, the tomato puree and all the spices.
Cover the pot with the lid and leave the meat to cook in a medium temperature for approximately 2 hours.
Add more water and spices if necessary, to give it a spicy flavour.

The sauce in the pot should be thick, red and dark from the spices and rich enough for the spaghetti.

Boil and drain the spaghetti and add butter, as they are still warm in the pot.
Serve on the plates with plenty of sauce and grated cheese (kefalotyri).

The meat with the sauce we serve as a second dish.
The spaghetti are delicious if we combine with the sauce in the pot half an hour before we serve them,
that way they absorb more of the sauce.

Gee Sid, I might take you up on that If we use Olympic Air to get to Egypt, we always have a little time in Athens. I like to do it this way, then it's just a short flight into Alexandria.
