Default When was my machine manufactured?

    Hi,

I've looked at the date-of-manufacture threads but my license stickers don't resemble those that are described. Below is a picture of my stickers. Any ideas when this thing was built?

    It's a Nishijin-Sophia "Super DX".

Also, I noticed that there are no vintage Nishijin machines in the museum. Can we add older machines?

    Thanks!
    Ken

Feb 1965. According to a manual I have, you add 1926 to the "39" and the -2 means Feburary!

My understanding is that the 49 and the 6 in the middle yellow "bullseye" sticker are the date numbers. Add 1925 to the 49 giving a date of 1974 which is the date it had to be removed from the parlor. Subtract 3 years for date of manufacture = 1971 and the 6 indicates June of that year.

Fred, I believe that is wrong. A bunch of the machines have that 239 number on them. Here is my Bullseye date sticker -- note the 50 and the 6: June of 1972 is my date after applying the formula.

Take a look here for more info and also note his machine, too, has the 239 number. http://faculty.ccp.edu/faculty/dreed...hinko/text.htm

Slotter, I wasn't posting as a response to your answer. My manual is in pdf format so I had to print out a page, scan into a file and reduce file size before I could post. Your information seems to make more sense. My was part of a number of manualy I got in pdf format that don't seem to be very accurate.

Cool Re: When was my machine manufactured?

A four-digit on the "Sun Cell "sticer is CRISTIAN ERA.
But a two-digit is JAPANESE YEAR.
For example, a two-digit "50" is JAPANESE YEAR "Syouwa 50".
    "SYOUWA 50" is A.D.1975.
This year is the period of varidity.
The term of varidity is 3years.
    1975 - 3 = 1972
The year of manufacture is 1972.
    JAPANESE YEAR CRISTIAN ERA (A.D.)

    SYOUWA 20 1945

    SYOUWA 25 1950

    SYOUWA 30 1955

    SYOUWA 35 1960

    SYOUWA 40 1965

    SYOUWA 45 1970

    SYOUWA 50 1975

    SYOUWA 55 1980

    SYOUWA 60 1985

    SYOUWA 63 1988

    HEISEI 1 1989

    HEISEI 5 1993

    HEISEI 10 1998

    HEISEI 12 2000

    HEISEI 14 2002

That would mean your machine was made in 1971.
