Hello Everyone, I'm back

Hello all,

First I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers during and since my foot surgery. This is the first time I've tried sitting at the computer and things seem to be going well for the most part. I'm going to have to take it slow for now; no sitting at the computer for hours on end like I usually do.

Just want to let you all know that progress is being made. I only had to take one pain pill yesterday, and I'm shooting for none today, but we'll see how it goes. Once again, thanks to everyone!!!!

Congrats Willie, glad to hear it's all working out. When I came home from my neck surgery I had on a morphine patch for the first few days. It was glorious! In preparation for my home stay of two weeks I bought a computer in parts and spent my time putting it together like a geek jigsaw puzzle.

I hope your neck surgery went as well as my foot surgery. If I had the brains and cash flow to do a jigsaw puzzle like that, I'd do it. But since I am lacking in both of those areas, I'll stick to playing my Tomcat.

I hope your neck surgery went as well as my foot surgery.

It didn't go exactly well.

Sometime during the surgery, they said when they were removing the tube from my throat but I think not, I blew a blood vessel in my eye and it caused a huge blood clot in my vision. When I first woke up, my first words were, "there's something in my eye!". The nurses came right over and sometime afterwards, unknown to me as I was half out of it, the the surgeon came by to check on it. I explained it looked a lot like the lunar lander right in the middle of my right eye. Instead of staying overnight, I left the hospital 3 hours later on my way to a retnal specialist. They told me they could do surgery on my eye but it would go away on it's own in two weeks to six months.

I couldn't stand the view and took an old pair of glasses and put black tape over the right lens so I couldn't see that damn thing. This was after I tried an eye patch that I also couldn't stand to wear.

Two weeks went by and it changed shape but not size. Six months went by and it had gone down some but was still in my vision. Two years went by and it was smaller but still there. I could make it dance across walls and stuff. I was still turning out the lights in my office in the daytime to avoid seeing it so easily on the white walls.

Now four years later, I'm so used to it that I only really notice it on occasion or when I look for it. It's a lot like having hair hanging in your vision that you can't brush away.

They said I convulsed when they removed the tube, my feelings are more along the lines of they let my blood pressure spike during the surgery. Can't prove it but that's my gut feeling.

Wow Tulsa, it sounds like you had one heck of a time with that surgery!!! I can't imagin having something like that blocking my vision. I hate when even a hair gets in the way......of course I haven't had to worry about that in many many years now. :lmao: I sure hope you never have to go through that again!!!

Thanks Carol, I was just doing that for about an hour. I put a stool beside the machine and had my foot proped up on that and I managed to hit a BB on it again!!! Wow is that ever a BLAST!!!!!

Mike, Sorry to here that the flu has got you down!!! When were you planning on getting there?? Tony neglected to tell me you were planning a visit.

I sure hope you feel better fast so you can make that visit!! The Spin Luck NEEDS to be warmed up, because Tony sure doesn't give her the attention she needs!!!!
