Default Question about Jet Set Radio Pachislo

Well, my first pachislo machine just arrived today and as you can imagine, I was pretty excited. It's all plugged in and plays just fine, as far as I can tell, even though I've yet to play any bonus rounds (I have messed around with the odds). I was wondering if anyone on the boards knows how to change the machine from credit play to token play on this particular model? Right now it's set to credit, so every time I win, I just receive more credit instead of tokens coming out of the machine. Can that be changed?

I've tried pressing the "credit/cash out" button when the machine was idle and nothing happened. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A lot of newer machines are credit only.

You can put 50 tokens in and add 3 tokens a spin and you will get your payouts

Interesting. I think the machine was made in 2003 - Is that considered "newer"? Thanks for the information!

Let me tell you though, this machine is stingy beyond belief at the moment. I've already played about 1,000 tokens each at payout levels 3 and 6 and I've yet to see any big bonuses. Hopefully it's just a dry spell!

The wife looks at me wierd but I will start rubbing my machine all over and start sweet talking to it and usually within 100 tokens after that it starts falling in love with me and starts paying out. If that doesn't work, I threaten to send it back to Japan, and within 50 she starts paying out.

NOTE: I only do that AFTER I have put in over 1,000 tokens...

Hahahaha! I gave that a shot after I put in about another 1,000 tokens....It worked! The bonus round was lots of fun (and unbelievably loud)! Thanks!

You'll probably find that after the novelty's worn off, you'll want credits anyway. And yes, that bonus is incredibly loud!

My first machine was Jet Set Radio, I still like the game very much. JSR is credit only, no cash option. The button dosn't work. 3 bells is easy to hit with a little practice but that only pays out 6 credits. There are clues that come up on the LCD that helps you win, with time you will figure them out. I don't have a play guide for this game, I've seen one in Japanese but I couldn't make head or tails out of it. Keep playing, you will see it's secrets with time. Set the skill to 6 for a while until you get a feel for the machine and see some of the interaction on the LCD. Then set it lower and more features will be available. It takes time with these machines to learn all the tricks at getting the most out of them.....keep playing. Wait till you get a Jet Chance and it tells you which reel to stop, mine is in english with a heavy japanese accent. Different to say the least. Good luck with your new hobby.

I don't have this machine. But on some of mine, there is a button by the coin slot that switches the machine between token and credit. If that doesn't work for you, someone will be one in the morning with correct answer. Good luck....

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be such a button on my machine. What a bummer. Thanks for letting me know that it will pay tokens after you have 50 credits though, if I should every be so lucky as to win more often on the machine.

Every machine I own will only pay credits until the credits reach 50. At that point they pay out tokens.

Musky above is right. There is a lot of fun and satisfaction out of finding the secrets of these machines on your own. And, there are a lot more secrets than you would think at first. I discover new things each and every single week.

Thanks for the replies, you all - I really appreciate it. Say, Musky, when ever you go into Jet Chance mode, does the Jet Chance emblem to the right of the reels light up for your machine or is it only the stars that surround it? Also, there are times when I'm playing and the fluorescent light over the reels turns off and only the reels themselves are lit from behind by the small incandescent bulbs. When this happens, the left-most reel is completely dark. Is this normal or is it a light out?

The Jet Chance lights up, and the reel lighting is just another clue that something is about to happen if you stop the reels in the right sequence. Pot luck if you get it right. So, the lights going out is just another facet of game play....normal.

I will review 27 in the museam shortly, so far it is interesting to say the least. I got 9 bonuses in a row the first day I played it and that was in about an hour, the other night my wife couldn't get a bonus to save her life....go figure. The 27 win lines spoils you when you play another game.

Okay, I got into some other bonus mode where the Jet Chance icon lit up completely. You're right though, the game is full of little nuances. When certain animations appear on the screen, are you supposed to sync your button pressing with it or press buttons in a certain order?

Oh, a few more questions, before I forget - does Jet Set Radio have an attract mode? What's an attract mode? And what's with the two tiny switches on the bottom right of the power box inside the machine? Thanks again!

The 2 switches are for "reset after bonus" and "payout credits after bonus" I'm not sure which is which. to turn them off if they are vertical they should both be pushed down. If they are horizontal they should both be to the right.

As far as attract mode, this is the mode the machine goes into when it is idle to attract people to the machine. I'm not sure if your machine has one. Some of my machines flash lights, play videos or a combination of the 2.
