Default Surfing Machine Cleaned Up

I got the Nishijin C "Surfing" machine finished up today. It was one dirty machine! Very greasy, but you don't need to hear about it. Pretty fun machine to play, although I would have thought that the jackpots across the center would be easier to get into...

It cleaned up nice and is working well. The surfers are on a small motor (similar to modern shooter motor, only smaller). The motor just rocks them back and forth. There is a star wheel hooked to the motor as well that hits a std. micro-switch to turn some tiny 24v lights on/off at the top of the waves (similar to the star wheel on the modern shooter knobs). The bulbs are similar to those on the moderns (I used 28v bulbs to replace the burn outs). It seems to be a late model C and maybe a precursor to the modern electrics.

I did have to completely re-wire the lights as someone had them all hosed up. Decided to by-pass the circuit board that the 2 jackpot lights are hooked to in the C model and just went with a basic wiring hook-up. Rigged so the jackpot and ball tray lights come on together.

Also, it was missing the very bottom plastic piece in the back that directs the balls into the bottom front tray. If anyone has a C model parts machine and can part with that bottom part, I would like to buy that part. partner... Need an ash tray as well...

Here are some pictures.

I can try to get a video. I don't think you can post them directly - have to go via You Tube? Very unique machine - it sits between my PF and my A model alligator/monkey (I love that machine).

I just hope the motor doesn't burn out...

I need to borrow a vid camera as I don't have one. The machine is working fine, no problems with the motor or 24v light circuit. Hula girl still does not dance, though...

I was thinking about just shooting a short vid with my camera. May not be the best quality. Hula girl is fixed in place, we were joking before about getting her to shake some of her assets. Also need some Hawaii 5-0 music...

Shot a short video with my camera and registered on You Tube. No response from them yet to activate my account - does it take a day or two? I did it quite a while ago...

Maybe they don't like pachinko...
