Default Transformers, more than meets the eye!

    Just got one of these:

    http://www.mpja.com/directview.asp?product=15163+TR

    Variable AC transformer

The 100V and 24V needs of these Japanese machines only have a 10% tolorence so really 120 is too much. This transformer allows adjustment to any AC voltage from 1 to 130 and capable of 2,000VA (enough for about 4 machines at the same time). I checked my 24V transformer and it puts out 25.5V.

This is why I replace the transformer with a USA made

    PowerVolt
    smt-6-24-rtc (RTC: Auto-resetable thermal cut-out)
These are designed to run 27/7.

They are designed for 120v in and 24v out.

The china made ones are 100v in and 24v out, so you put in them 120v, you will get out 28.8v aprox.

I get my PowerVolts from Milt

Geez. You shoulda said you wanted one compirate. I have a box of six of those collecting dust at my parent's place. I got them from my high school when someone donated them and they threw them away. Years ago, but I'm sure they still work.

What about the machines that they say don't require a transformer (like my Harley Davidson)?

    I wonder that too, now.

Also all the LEDs that have been burning out for people on Beast Zapp, it is a 100v system no transformer needed.

I wonder if that is what is popping those cookies ? 28.8v is way over the 10%.
