Exclamation Vintage : Nishijin Shiroi Kamome Simulation!!

Finally we have a great vintage pachinko simulation !! Nothing compares with it so far on any platform. Plus the nice thing about it : It is free !!

(the above is an actual screenshot of the game!! )

To experience this for yourself :Grab the free Visual Pinball simulation program here :

    http://www.randydavis.com/vp/

After you have installed the Visual Pinball program : grab the free pachinko table file here :

    http://www.flipperless.com/modules.p...Pachinko_Birds

This simulation rocks and will show why the vintage pachinkos are still popular today. The action is accurate even down to the nail sounds when the ball(s) hit them. Hopefully with this release = more will be on the way!!

    It's a beauty !!!

Thanks arby and guys for the thankyou's. I realized after I posted this that I am not sure this will work on Macs so I thought I better state that here.

I have(and continue to search for more) played a lot of Pachinko simulations and have not seen one with such crisp graphics and sound plus gameplay as this one has. I believe the author of this table made this just like they are making the pinball simulations, by taking a high quality digital picture and then somehow adding in the Visual Pinball programming. Again, hopefully we will see more of these as this really is a big breakthru (in playability also).

Thank you Aslew!! Someone sent me this link and I am "thrilled" that someone enjoys this recreation of my Pachinko. I made this Pachinko game from pics I took of my own Pachinko, I only have one, so I doubt I'll make another. It's easier to win than on my real Pachinko, but I could easily change that by moving nails.

I may animate the little guy in the middle (he moves his hands and legs when the ball enters the top) but I didn't really think anyone would care about that, since I used a Pinball editor and hang around a pinball forum.

If any of you guys like pinball, there are 1,000's of pinball tables made with this editor. Some of them are truly fantastic recreations of the real thing. I'll give you a link to my favorite Visual Pinball (name of the editor we use to make and play pinball) forums and you can check it out or ask questions if you'd like.

    http://www.vpforums.com/index.php?s=

There are many pinball tables hosted at different sites, but you should be able to find all the information you'll need at this site. Everythings FREE, but that means it may be a little work to figuring it all out, but it is definately worth it.

Thanks again for your nice comments

And a BIG welcome from me also Bob !!

I have been a collector of Pinball simulations for quite awhile now and I check almost daily these websites :

    http://irpinball.ztnet.com/

    http://www.flipperless.com/

    http://www.vpforums.com/

    http://www.vp-originals.com/

Do you know of any other sites I should be considering?

As far as your Pachinko simulation : I was wondering what was happening in the center. Yes it would be great to see it animated or do whatever it is supposed to do !

Looking forward to seeing more work from you.

BTW : Can you work off of a good digital picture and a video that would give you the overall sounds etc of a pachinko? If so we may have a few that would be fun to see simulated !!

    Hi All,

I also think that Bob5453's recreation is excellent and I thoroughly enjoy it!

I discovered hits at Pinball Nirvana from this site and was thrilled, just a note about flipperless.com, it's the same as pinballnirvana.com but flipperless.com is being phased out.

For anyone interested in some Visual Pinball pachinko and slot's, here is a link to the download page at Pinball Nirvana for these types of machines:

Yes, this table was made with digital pics, but any pics could be scanned. I didn't record any real Pachinko sounds, I just edited some pinball sounds that I already had. I personally don't want to do any more Pachinko's, but if any of you know a little VBscript programming (I just know a little of the old Basic from the 70's and I can get by) you could easily be on your way to making your own Pachinko's. You can get help and or suggestions from any of the 4 Visual Pinball forums that exist.

There was a pretty good pinball creator that expressed some interest in making a Pachinko, I will PM him and send him to this thread and maybe he would give one a shot.

Also, I will at some time update this Pachinko to speed it up and make it a little more difficult. I just didn't realise anyone was going to be interested in it.

    This is an excellent site

    Bob

Its probably just me, but I just had to use my Norton GO BACK to get all that simulation doody out of my PC.

Suddenly, I found I was having Graphics problems. The resolution, fonts etc were going kinda crazy. I backed it out & seem to be fine now.

Just thought this evil, dark potential should be exposed.

The main Visual Pinball forums has 99,919 registered users...

...and I don't recall ever seeing a post about the progam causing resolution, fonts etc to go crazy. I'm not very high tech, the program editor requires Microsoft Windows and I didn't add any subliminal messages :burnout:

    BTW, I love your avatar

Dude it probably is just you . I have never heard of such a problem either and I have been a donating forum member for years now. But I am sure the programmers of this great emulator would love to hear your story and suggest to you how it can be fixed. But be prepared to list everything you are running in the background etc on your computer plus have your specs ready as I am sure they will love the challenge!

Well, Im not overly concerned or looking to issue a challenge.
Sorry I slighted the wonderful perfect website where nothing has ever gone wrong in the history of all computers in all time & space. I feel so awful that out of millions of happy, happy people, I bring a discouraging word!
What a dork I am for even mentioning my imaginary lil' problem.

Why not ? Thats how these emulators etc get improved

Yep it took years for them to perfect the site but it is something to behold !

Actually you may be right on how many people are running it ! Only about 100000 people have bothered to register it tho...

What a dork I am for even mentioning my imaginary lil' problem.
Not really as that is how they have made the program such a clean running program. People like you help and that is why I suggested letting them know about it although I am sure they are being made aware of it as we speak

And Azlew, I'd just like to publicly thank you for ruining my life by showing me this site. Just when I could spend 15 minutes with this one you did it. I sat there last night for HOURS downloading the pinballs I played years ago...Eight Ball Deluxe (great!), Firepower (great), heck Xenon, even Future Spa (dumb as I remembered it). I'm sure you have the old Pinball Arcade from Microsoft, which is incredible for the tables they have (I swear identical to the machines). Of course, quality varies on these emulations, but Eight Ball and Firepower were the machine reincarnated (my reflexes still worked on the shots!)

Great. Now I'm a supporting member there. Hundreds of free tables.

    Why why WHY WHY WHY!?!??!?!!??!?!!

On a serious note, it made me realize that my fascination with modern pachinkos is due to their being what I now realize to be the successors to the art of pinball machine design (plastics, animation, lights, sound, and even video). Since the US industry is one company with two or three pinballs a year, I realize that the creativity in the pachis comes from 20 firms fighting it out with dozens of models a year, and we're all the winners.

I will go to sleep. I will go to sleep. Soon.

Most of the Pachinko's recreated for Visual Pinball have been done by a talented Pinball Nirvana member named Patrick, from France. He's a valuable contributor and I sent him a link to this site and thread, hope he visits!

    Hi doodude,

I'd be happy to help you!
I agree with Bob5453 and don't believe your problems were caused by Visual Pinball, but stranger things have happened! VP won't run on Macs, perhaps this is the problem?

Here's an install procedure, I'm skipping Visual Pinmame which is a program that requires roms to play the newer 1980's to present day recreations. All of the tables at Pinball Nirvana, IRPinball and vporiginals do not require Visual Pinmame, roms or vbsscripts.
See this thread if you want to understand the differences:
    http://www.pinballnirvana.com/index....iewtopic&t=763

These instructions are to get Bob's Pachinko Birds to run on your computer and presume you know how to handle and extract .zip files.

    1) Download the full install version of Visual Pinball here:
    http://www.pinballnirvana.com/module...=getit&lid=175

    2) Run the setup.exe file to install VP.

    3) Download the updated Visual Pinball .exe file, here is the latest version:
    http://www.pinballnirvana.com/module...=getit&lid=311

    4) Extract the VPinball-7alpha-5.exe file into your Visual Pinball folder that was created in step #2.

    5) Download Pachinko Birds from here:
    http://www.pinballnirvana.com/module...=getit&lid=467

    6) Open the Pachinko Birds zip file and extract it into your Visual Pinball/Tables folder that was created in step#2, you might be able to double click the .vpt file inside the zip to run it now but I suggest you follow the next steps to ensure you are using the updated VP .exe

    7) Double click the VPinball-7alpha-5.exe file that you placed in your Visual Pinball folder, then File,Open and browse to your Pachinko Birds.vpt file inside the Table folder. If everything wen't ok it should play!

If something went wrong, make sure you have current directx files from microsoft and/or give me more info..
