Default Thunderbirds by Fuji - two questions

I have 2 questions about this machine which just arrived.

First, what do the 2 two-position switches on the payout/reset box do? What are their normal positions? I have played with them in several configurations and they seem to do nothing.

Second, I expected more sound. It's not that the volume is low, that's never the case with Pachislos, but there is a lot of video without any audio. For example, when the machine is first turned on it goes through the opening video for the show with no audio (except the dredded hum common on this model). I get the play noises, the lightning bolt sound, the countdown prior to the special, and the music during the special. Do other people get more music? Is this normal for this model?

BTW, this is a really nice machine!

Your question about the switches is answered in the FAQ area of the site. See: http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2465

As for sound, I'm not familiar with that machine, but others here are I'm sure. Make sure all of your speakers are connected. I have one machine that different sounds play through different speakers, so if one were disconnected it would sound like I was 'missing' sounds.

Oh, and be sure to read my followup to that message on the same page. It tells more about how to tell which way is on vs. off and which switch is which on different machines.

Joe welcome to Pachitalk. We are glad you found your way here. Your machine is normal. Music is only used in special sequences.

On a side note, when I checked the music on my machine, I went into a bonus round. This bonus round is a little different from all the other ones I have received. I received it with the three red sevens (Which I had received many times before). But this time it is playing some weird tecno music. And as soon as I finish one bonus round it sends me back to the bonus game. Where it immediately gives me another bonus with three red sevens.

John you were in a chance round. John is also right, during it's attract mode, when no one is playing it, it will not play music. Which I personally love. I tend to leave my machines on all the time and I would hate it if they were constantly making noise. With the slight exception of the original Terminator that talks every now and then, "hey you punk" and "wanna play", it's quiet too.

If they were being noisey, I would have to turn them all off to watch tv.
