Magic Lamp - help!

Hey Guys

I have just brought a magic lamp Pachinko, but it needs to run on a 24V Parlour system,
What are the requirements for this? what amps etc? any idea where i can get the correct transformer?

Hi Chris
You would need a 230-24vac transformer. For that age of machine. Probably one rated at about 5-6 Amps. There might be a data plate on the back telling you how many va it is rated at (Approx 120va)
If in doubt. Post a picture.

I order mine from either Farrnel or RS components. I found the cheaper ones on ebay overheated to quickley and suffered from excessive voltage drops causing the machines to stop working properly.

I have also found out one of the ZNR's has blown so have got to find a replacement for that! seems a previous owner has plugged into 110V!

Without knowing the exact specifications of the machine I wouldn't like to say yes or no. But should be ok for most machines up to mid 2000s should keep little fingers safe from being fried too.

Yes 120va rating.

My personal preference is to go one size up on transformers. So I would fit a 150va model. Then you have a little in reserve especially if you want to add a top light or battle counter in future. But I am sometimes over cautious.

Should be ok if your good with a soldering iron and connect up in parallel.

Do you have a dongle in your 25pin D socket on the back?

hi yes it does have the dongle in the back! thank god dont fancy making one of them!

Did not have a key which is very annoying!

So once these bits arrive tomorrow we should be in business!
i assume if the ZNR has blown its just that component that's likely blown?

I've only got 2 keys left for 4 machines so can't really spare one at the moment. I haven't seen a good deal on getting more recently

My boss has one but it does not work on his lock? he has the Lord of the rings by Sankyo

99% are the same. There is the odd different one. I have both main types. Or of course your bosses lock could be broken. Just de pin it.

i could de pin mine too did not put much thought to it whilst the main machine is out of action so to speak

I did just do a quick google and found a US seller selling them at $20 but i have a mate who frequents japan might get him to pick some up! be cheaper,

I assume no one really imports Pachinkos in the UK anymore?
