Question 1982 Kyoraku ? Any information would be helpful

Need help with a recent flea market find. Afaik, it's a Kyoraku Bright Red Sun(?) or Brilliant Red Sun(?) just going by what's printed on the machine itself, but, the playfield is spaceships and a moon and Kyoraku itself isn't very helpful. I'm not sure anyone there even dates back to the 80's. Not even sure what's missing off of the back; I get the feeling I will be doing a lot of 3D printing to finish this first pachinko machine. Any tidbits at all would be helpful.

Welcome to Pachitalk. What part of California?

I love those early Kyoroku machines and have about a half dozen in my collection. They are a ton of fun to play. Your machine has a cool feature if it the same as one of mine with the button on the front. there is a catch feature on the piece directly below the display. If a ball lands there you can then push the red button on the front left side of the machine and it will launch the ball up in to the pocket above the display which is actually more like an upside down pocket and that triggers the bottom gate to open. Yours may be a little different, but my guess is that there is a skill shot that when hit allows you to choose then you want to open the lower gate by pushing the button. It looks like your glass may be in the front slot and no glass in the rear slot which is causing balls to jam and maybe not drain properly.

I have a couple from the same year, but I don't think I have one that matches yours exactly. You know you have too many machines when you can't keep track of them all. Anyway, some photos of the back would help to identify missing parts and if you are in the Bay Area I'd be happy to help you out if you have a hard time getting it running.

Thanks for the link! Your machine is the one I would think would be "Bright Red Sun" just because of the artwork. I saw one brief (no pictures) translated blurb about a Kyoraku "Rocketship Moon" machine so for a while I was thinking that, at least until my neighbor Yumiko translated the writing on the front.

I'm actually way up here in Sunnyvale Found this one at the De Anza Flea Market. I live in a house with just a carport so I'm actually going to have to build a frame to hold this machine up to work on it. Once I actually start working on this I might hit your up for parts to measure; I'm waiting for https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/o...e-3d-printer#/ to be delivered. The Pachinko (hopefully the first of many) is just one project I have on the list that's probably going to require custom built parts.

    Welcome Aboard

The labels don't show the machine name, just builder and transformer spec.

Well, yeah. The last picture shows the blurb right above the shooter; the back pictures are just for the serial number and to show it's a "normal" powered machine.
