Very cool machine. The early 60's and earlier vintages are my favorite because of the simple, midcentury aesthetic of the graphics. After that the cels just got boring and uninspired for the most part. It looks like your frame has been repainted and if it's working properly, there's not really a whole lot more info. Note that pachinkos need a certain amount of balls to operate properly or else they will jam. Being jammed and out of adjustment is usually the condition they're found in but it's easy to remedy.

Thanks, was wondering if there are any info sources on this vintage, the mechanicals seem to function. I can manually activate a jackpot from the back of the machine.

Check with Rival. He operates pachinkoplanet.com.

He is a very good source of information about such things. Welcome aboard!
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

you're at the best site by far for pachinko machines. in terms of info about that specific machine or any specific machine, info is pretty much nonexistent in regards to who designed it, etc. the mechanics all pretty much work the same for all vintages regardless of brand. they all need a minimum of balls to play because theyre designed to not work if there aren't enough balls. This is a frequent source of jams because people keep playing them with too few balls. The jackpot and jackpot lever mechanisms are all pretty much the same as well. If you're experiencing a specific problem post pictures and describe what's going on and it will be easy to diagnose.
Your machine may still have the tax stamp and certification stickers on it. if it does the year when it was in a parlor can be determined by the japanese "showa" year.

Cool machine. It looks just like a couple of the Comicgate machines in my collection. Same background art and same center feature as one of them. Pretty sweet.

    Very cool

I like the little window by the shooter. What's its purpose? Stored winning balls?

these early machine have a jackpot over flow tube.. if you hit two jackpots at the same time the second ball lands in that overflow tube.. there is a manual button (though i don't see it on this machine) that the player can push it will take the ball and put it back into the jackpot seesaw for the jackpot to pay out...

i have a machine with this feature.. i have not played it a whole lot.. nor have i ever hit two jackpots together that one was sent to the holding tube..

You say you can trigger a jackpot from the rear...does it payout if you drop a ball in a pocket on the front? The glass is easily removed by pulling back on a spring loaded tab at the top right of the back. There should be a notch to hold it open. Then the glass slides up through a slot in the frame.

That is a pretty nice machine. Built around 1952-53. I got one roughly the same vintage myself.

    100 machines and counting...
