Default Vintage keys and not having them

So my buddy showed me an easy fix to keys if you don't mind a mod. We pulled the lock and removed the pins from the core. The lock now spins with no effort from a screwdriver or even a key and still has the spring back. No hole no cabnet mods. Do we really need security on these? Hope this helps.

That's a great tip. I'm going to need that since mine are against the wall and reaching behind is not all that easy for me.
