    Default Juji Deka Battle Counter with Lumina Frame

    Got my Juji Deka Battle Counter so time to figure out how to hook this up. This thing has 18 cables but I'm having the impression I'll only have to connect a few since it seems to be build to hook up with multiple battle counters as I noticed in the cool video from samslack.

    I'm trying to hook this up to my Julie The Pachinko which is a Sanyko Lumina Frame.

    Pictures of the Lumina Frame:

    power.jpg
    Based on the spliced connections, I'm assuming this pachinko machine had a battle counter in the past? Which cables from the battle counter will I need to hook up to this?

    Here are 2 pictures from the Output Terminals on my lumina frame:

    connections2.jpg
    Not sure if I need this for anything but it is my understanding that (according to Dave's documentation):
    CN1: Door Open Off
    CN2: Door Open On
    CN3: Prize Ball (1 pulse for every 10 prize balls)

    connections1.jpg

    Had a bit harder time to figure some of these out but based on write-ups of other battle counters, I'm assuming I mainly need to worry about the following?

    CN3: Start Gate (= symbols spinning)
    CN4: Bonus Payout (Ootari - symbols lined up)
    CN5: Change, Big Bonus (Kakuhen)

    Which cables do I use from the battle counter to hook up to my pachinko to these outputs (assuming they're correctly identified)?

    Take a look at this PachiTalk thread. It should answer most of your questions.

    Thats where I got most of my info from but my battle counter has 18 connectors vs only a few on that one.

    If its contact output and i cant tell looks like there are opto chips behing the sticker. Then you will use the input connectors with the blue tag if its voltage outputs it will be the red however i have the same units to change the input i believe you need the remote or create a converter. This is only if iys voltage output. See if you can measure any voltage off the start connector when putting a ball in start if you get anything its voltage. Someone else here may have the same fram and could also tell you

    Counters have various inputs and outputs. Plus comms and sync connections. The trick is finding the basic 4 pairs you need.

    Power.
    Start pocket/reel spins
    Ootari
    High probability mode.

    Alright so I assumed that all Lumina frames were using the same connections but based on the picture below and Dave's translation page, I seem to be wrong
    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/pach...terminals.html

    More pictures:

    connections4.jpg
    OK so using the link above, I have the following connections:
    CN1 = Start Pocket 1
    CN2 = Start Pocket 2
    CN3 = Design Decision Signal
    CN4 = Bonus 1
    CN5 = Bonus 2
    CN6 = Probably Fluctuation 2
    CN7 = Probably Fluctuation 1
    CN8 = Bonus 3

    How do I hook this up with multiple start pockets, bonuses, ...?

    Also, related to the contact vs voltage output, here is a better picture:

    connections3.jpg
    From the translation page it seems to tell me: Maximum Rating (Zero Voltage Output) DC24V 0.1A

    Sweet - thanks Ian - I guess my original findings were right then and I need to stop translating Japanese. I looked all over on this forum but couldn't find the page you just found so thank you very much.

    CN3 - Start
    CN4 - Bonus
    CN5 - High Probability

    Once I got an answer on contact vs voltage outputs, I can start trying to hook this up without blowing anything up . LOL and I thought this was going to be as easy as hooking up Dave's dongle. I think Dave needs to make a battle counter!

    The lumina has contact outputs. You just need to work out which loom is the inputs. Any tags on them. It should be one of the cables in a batch of 6. (Probably 3 sets of them)

    For that counter

    2 large wires 24vac

    Redtag 3 pairs of connections = voltage input not needed for you

    Blue tag 3 pairs of connections = contact inputs this is the one you will connect you may need adapters to make them plug in.

    Green tag
    3 pairs of connections = output not used in your case

    Orange tag
    3 pairs of connections = output not used in your case

    Red tag with 2 pairs of connection for Alls pwm signal to do chasing patterns and such not used in your case.

    Unmarked 4 pin with green wires is for end lamps or connections to other counters

    Well it kinda works right now. The counter goes up by one each time a ball runs through start but I haven't seen any other activity. When I manually make contact for bonus, a different counter goes up and all lights flash but when I do the same for the change one, nothing happens. Shouldn't a counter go up in that case as well or what should happen?

    Sounds like your good and its all righ just play the hell out of it now and enjoy the flashing lights

    If you want to test the counter alone follow these. Some one else was nice enouh to create these handy instructions they tell you hot to test each input http://www.tattooiowa.com/pachitalk/..._Miina_21e.htm

    Woot woot - good to hear everything seems to be ok. I did wish these counters would count every ball I would play and every ball I would win but I'll settle for the flashy lights

    It will record every ball pocketed but not how many you didnt get

    It will also keep a history of fevers for a little while. You can scroll through the days with the 4 pad selector on the left.

    Im sure the machine has a count of how many balls lost but good luck finding that info out and i believe those signals transmit to their mainframe system that tracks it all. If im not mistaken its one of thise wites you cut up.

    Lol I think somebody believes I shouldnt have been cutting any wires. No worries, I made sure to cut them in such a way that I could easily reconnect them if needed. Lol I just wanted to get the thing hooked up! Yes, I sometimes can be impatient!

    A daverob dongle would do that. I charge mine up with 1000 balls at a time.

    I actually have a Dave's dongle as well but keep forgetting to use it! I hooked it up but I keep forgetting to press the loan button. Thanks for reminding me ... I'm starting to loose my mind! Age does that to you

    I've done this as well to track the spent balls. I don't have any battle counters but do have a few Gaku counters wired to the outputs on some machines. (thanks for the reminder CarlW)
