    Smile Its road trip time!!!

    I'm so excited

I'm about to embark on an 8 hour round trip across the UK to pick up my first in what I hope to be a long line of pachinko machines its taken me over a year to finally find one at the right price condition and age (I'm a bit picky and I wanted a project not a toy!!)

Any way wish me luck and I will post detailed pictures once I'm back and have had a chance to do a happy dance

    WP_20161122_23_11_56_Pro.jpg

It's in way better condition than I thought it also came with a couple hundred balls some rusty but hay can't have everything needs a good clean and check over but that's tomorrow's task I will also take a good few pics to show it off as well

Hi J, that's a nice first machine I enjoy the road trip going for new toys!
Do you have a spot picked out to display it? Remember they can multiply quickly

The balls are looking much better now I've obsessively spent the day tumbling and polishing pachinko balls so cleaning the machine will be tomorrow instead with pictures of everything and probably a ton of questions for you guys posted with them.

Hay guys I'm having a play around with my machine today and I've got a couple of pictures of the condition its in right now

    Some pictures of the machine

    WP_20161124_13_45_42_Pro.jpgWP_20161124_13_46_28_Pro.jpgWP_20161124_13_46_41_Pro.jpgWP_20161124_13_47_07_Pro.jpgWP_20161124_13_47_17_Pro.jpgWP_20161124_13_47_35_Pro.jpgWP_20161124_13_47_46_Pro.jpgWP_20161124_13_48_24_Pro.jpgWP_20161124_13_46_15_Pro.jpg

    Issues with the machine

    Rusty chrome
broken front glass top right corner (and by glass I mean plastic!!)
    Dirty really dirty!!
sticking tulip (probably due to dirt)
dirty playfield (may need to be replaced)
loading tray ball emptier switch sticks half open
    faded plastics
    jackpot issues
1 seesaw reset issue (bit in consistent)
2 jackpot doesn't reload (works if you do it manually)
3 multiple jackpots jam the seesaw
    lights don't work
    1 needs new bulbs
2 broken wire on the jackpot leaf switch

    good points

    ball loader works well
    fires balls well
jackpots pay out randomly and after manual reset but it pays out
    upper ball tray works
    ball feeds work
and last but not least its a pachinko machine and its mine!!!!

Next I'm stripping the back down for a good cleaning session while I'm doing this I should get a better look at the jackpot problem any advice?

    p.s.
while writing this and uploading pics I noticed their was a rusty ball stuck in the tulip which ive now removed and cleaned the tulip and it now works

A good cleaning will make a world of difference in the operation, you may not have a jackpot issue after. GelGloss Cleaner/polish should clean up your playfield nicely. The Sanyo's I have seen & done have the "Spotless" playfield, so water staining is not so much an issue, now fading? that's a whole other story on the Sanyo's

My job for the weekend is stripping and cleaning the machine needs a solid good clean spent yesterday watching mopars videos from the stickies and the animation someone did forget who now but I now feel ready to strip it and way more knowledgeable on the machine and mechanisms in general

And the best bit of advice I've read is to photo every step so I can look at them and reverse the process when putting it back together so fingers crossed

Cleaning has started been at it now for 12hrs and my arms feel like their going to fall off!!

started with the front striped the ball loader tray and chrome frame off and went to town on removing the rust looking good now not perfect but ok while the plastics where soaking in warm water I got out the cotton buds (q-tips) and began cleaning up the playfield slowly but surely its looking much better now as well

I would post some pics but my phone has decided not to save pictures today!! so you will have to take my word for it

Wait till you try polishing all the nails with a bit of brasso on a lrngth of string wrapped around each nail in turn.

Its not your fault!! The site software currently doesn't recognize the auto rotate stuff all cameras and phones have these days so it just posts portrait pics in landscape..

Ok so cleaning of the front done in 2 days not bad

    WP_20161127_15_10_53_Pro.jpg

Managed to fix the issue with the ball tray dump into bottom tray slider as well it was rusted shut so cleaned it up a fitted a new spring works perfect now also killed all the rust in the front panel and frame still need new glass for the front so plastic back in for now.

Started stripping the back down for a good clean now and I think I've found my jackpot issue its looking like Tink nailed it as the moving ramp which the jackpot balls drop on to is very stiff and gummed up so hoping a good clean will fix the issue. the only thing worrying me at the minute is I found this hiding behind the ball catch tray.

    WP_20161127_11_28_14_Pro.jpg

Any ideas what it is or where it goes?? I cant see a place for it at all.
