Default Newbie Question time - warned you!

Hey guys, so I got a few questions and hope it's ok to list them all and suss out whats going on. Some are just general questions, others will be help me

I'll start with general first I guess:

I read about the little see-saw mech that sounds like it's what helps run the balls into the plunger. Does this have to be reset at the start of every "game" I'll call. As in once all balls are plunged and you have no more, does it need to be reset. What about if you have 30 balls walk away, come back in a hour or longer? Then?

I'm putting the balls though my tumbler. I presume no problem to do this? Removes the rust and even exposes some colour on the Japanese writing. Only tumbling for around 6-8 hrs as I don't want to damage any of the intricate inscriptions.

Wall mount? Any tips. I have no back and am thinking it would be cool to wall mount it. How can I best do this without damaging the mechanics in the back.

Key!!?? Any chance of finding a key for the front at all??

    Thanks guys.

I'll post Tech help in a new thread if that's ok with admin? So as not to jumble it up? Or best in one thread guys?

the jackpot seesaw will reset its self after each payout.. then balls that enters a tulip or win cup will role in to the jackpot seesaw.. the seesaw stays in the down position.. the ball continues down the jackpot arm and this action trips the jackpot to dump its balls.. those winning balls fall onto a lever.. that lever resets the jackpot seesaw so another ball can enter and start the jackpot sequence again.. so its kind of a timer to slow things down..

balls in a tumbler is a great idea.. but keep in mind balls that have lost there chrome plating will re rust at a fast rate.. they seem to be rougher and may damage your playfield as well.. i would recommend trashing any that are in poor condition..

for a case. build a box that is deeper then the pachinko.. i have used 1x8 pine boards simple and easy.. then you can use a french cleat to attach it to the wall..

do you have a local lock smith?? i have a local guy that has helped me with keys in the past..

i like the one thread rather then multi post... (my 2 tokens)

    Thanks for the reply.

Being that the see saw needs to be reset I think I may have some little problems. It's currently not paying out jackpots when they do happen. Any reason why?

    Great tips from Moparformances!

The seesaw may have a vertical rod under it to press upward for a reset. You could have something knocked out of place or jamming up from moving about. Are you able to post a few pictures of the back? This might be helpful to those who are more familiar with this type of machine.

Dirty or sticky pivot points is often the cause if the seesaw does not reset itself. The payout ramp should have a connecting rod to reset the seesaw on a win. Pics would be great.

The pivot posts should be clean and dry, no lubrication please.

There must also be enough balls in the machine for payout or it will not allow payout and seesaw reset.

Standard glass fuse, 2 or 3 Amp.

Everything looks to be there. I assume you used the ball dump to remove the balls for cleaning. That will need to be reset to direct the balls to the payout.
Also your low ball wire is on the wrong side of the lief switch.

Ah, ok!!! That would explain why it's possibly not paying out my jackpots. Can you enlighten me how the correct way to dump my balls would be (hehehe) and then how to reset so it pays out again.

Thanks for the low ball wire tip. I did notice that on the above link that Moparformances posted! Thanks, I'll change that tonight.

In the video Mopar posted above , 1:56 - 2:10 shows the ball dump and reset. Just slide the lever to the right so it locks in. You will know if it is locked as the balls will not fall out but continue to the payout holder.

Ah, got you! Yeah, pretty sure that was locked when it wasn't paying out. Will double check tonight with plenty of balls in the machine, leaf switch fixed and a reset slider for the dump mech.

As a side....anyone think how much Mopar sounds like Nicholas Cage in that video Uncanny

So, I tried all the above and I still don't seem to be getting my jackpot payouts??

The lever was locked in and plenty of balls in the tray. I even opened the glass and dropped a couple into the holes....nothing.

Any other reasons this is happening guys? Everything else seems to be working well, just not paying out.

Does the seesaw and payout ramp tip freely by hand?

Your back Ball Path is Really , Really Dirty behind the back plastic . Take plenty of photos while you are taking the diffirent pieces gently from the back and clean them really good

    https://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Purpo...=miracle+cloth

I have found since 2002 that this cloth can clean and polish Metal and Plastic and is Non-Toxic
When things don't go right the 1st time , Step back ,Take a break and come back renewed. RGS
