Default Curious about the history of this machine

I bought this cool Pachinko machine off craigslist and am fixing it up. The previous owner built a custom cabinet for it and it has now become a permanent fixture in my living room. Guests love it. While not all of the spare parts and covers are attached, it fully works. My goal is to fully restore it but I'm also looking to learn more about the history of this machine and manufacturer. I believe it is a Besta (based on the engraving in the detached jackpot mechanism cover), and from what I found on google, I think it's from the 60's. There's not a lot of information out there on Besta. Does anyone know if that's the manufacturer or just the model? Can anyone tell me more about this machine that might have one too, or point me to a good resource? I'm very curious and fascinated by the history of this machine. Thanks.

Hello and welcome. Besta would be the manufacturer. Your best resource is right here.

I am sure others will be along that will know more on that model. Neat machine by the way .

Wow thanks for all the feedback so far everyone. And thank you for the welcome. What a great group. BTW, here is a full shot of the custom cabinet. All of the missed shots fall down into the small drawer in the front for easy access, and there is a hole cut into the top above the hopper to reload, so you never need to access the back unless there is a jam. I'm in the process of cleaning things up, and will post progress shots if anyone is interested. Does anyone now how rare the Besta's are compared to others like Nishijin or Daiichi?

It is a "front overflow" machine. When the top tray is full and you want to transfer them to the lower tray, you slide the lever (or whatever releases the balls) and they flow to the lower tray through channels on front of the machine, as opposed to inside the machine. Not sure what years they were made. Probably late '60s to early '70s. They are less common, yours looks uncommon indeed.

Ah yes, you are right. Pushing down the yellow lever drains them right to the tray below. I've attached a closeup shot below. Also notable, the front tray and spring unit is on a door that pivots out toward you instead of opening like a door. This makes it a bit harder collect stray balls that fall out of the field or get to any of the mechanics. I was thinking late 60's. Thanks Pachiwall.

Thanks for the closeup shots! I particularly like the less common front overflow machines. There are some common front overflow machines tbat you see fairly often. I have never seen one like yours...nice score! It don't make it more valuable...maybe a little.

Sure np. I agree, I'm a fan of the simplicity. I'm not really concerned about how valuable, I don't plan on getting rid of this one for a verrrry long time.
    Thanks again.
