Default 777 Big Chance Pulsar pays out too many coins

Hi all, happy to have found this forum. Have a Yamasa Type A Wai 2 Pulsar with these numbers on it. Y-4-14 serial 063712. Game plays normally until it pays out, then it always overpays and sometime gives an E-3 error even though the hopper is full. I suspect a faulty coin counter. I cannot find an optical device any where on the hopper, just a switch with an arm on it where the coins come out of the hopper. The switch has the name Micro and is made by Yamatake- Honeywell. There are no wires leading to any sort of optical sensor. Unit worked fine for years, then this problem occurred. Any help or ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Micro switches can malfunction as well. Some of our older hydraulic pumps had cams and limit switches on them. It is known that after so many years the switch can stop working. Things only have a limited number of cycles. I think the average for micro switches is 1 million.

Appreciate the response Drunkenclam. I think I solved the problem, took the micro switch off the hopper and doused it in some Purple Power cleaner, then blew it dry with compressed air. The adjustment on reinstallation was a little tricky and took some time to get it right but my machine is now working correctly. Internal contacts may have been gummed up.
