    Default Funny Santa Token Issues

I am looking into purchasing this machine. The seller states that everything works, meaning it powers on and lights up but the tokens fall through the token slot directly into the tray/hopper below. If it has a free mode or is easily fixable I would pick it up but I wanted to get opinions first. The asking price for the machine itself is only 50 dollars.

for 50 its sounds like a fair price... but without pics of the machine it may be missing parts??? the tokens may be steel so the machine is rejecting them.. someone nay have tryed to make it take coins and screwed it up.. several reasons.. most are easy fix.. finding parts not so easy...

    and of course

I found the problem very quick. I opened it up and immediately noticed a mouse was living in there. All of the parts are there as far as I can see. Just a few pieces of wire from the power supply need replaced.

Hello puddjuice and welcome to the group!

I hope there is very little work needed from a mouse chewing on wires. They like wires! Does the machine come with a door key and another for a possible lock type switch inside? This is to perform resets and odds changing. Replacements are additional work and investment. Are there a lot of tokens (say 500+) that come with it? These help with the value especially if you don't have many yet.

Look it over as best you can and decide if $50 is or isn't a huge loss if it won't work without added expenses. Time is one thing but unknown cost is another. This was my approach with some that I was able to repair.

Not much work is needed. I looked the entire thing over and all I see is a few wires. Now that I look it seems like the return token feed for payouts is missing. The hopper is there though.

Are you able to get some pictures? Both inside of the door and the upper and lower halves of the inside body. The token feed being a plastic ramp/channel attached to the door going to the front bottom outside?

You might be able to test the hopper in one of two ways if needed. If credits are displayed after a spin just press the far left button near the spin knob. This will dispense any credits. You may need to hold it in for several seconds. Also some hoppers have a dump switch that can be used to empty the hopper. Some like mine will run it in reverse to aid in clearing a jam.

Sounds like a decent deal so far. I wish you the best if you get it and have fun!!

I'm not familiar with this company's setup but the token payout looks okay. Unless you were able to try it out and it needs adjusting or some rigging as Luckydog mentioned. The missing part to the lower right of the hopper isn't needed unless you are running several thousand tokens through it. This is for a overflow box to the hopper with the wired posts in back to signal the parlor of being full. Or the parlor would let the tokens fall through the hole to a common retrieval system.

Looks like the power box to the right of the reels. Is that a key in it at the top? Hard for me to tell with bad eyes. If so then that is good as mentioned earlier.

No there is no key in it. I am going to have to remove the On/Off key switch and put a toggle switch in it. The key is missing.

You could first try another key or even a straight slot screwdriver just to see if it turns easily. I have two machines like this. I can use the door key on one and a screwdriver on the other. I haven't had any trouble or need to replace them yet.
