Talking Took off my Tulips! Survived my first (minor) teardown!

Had a few that weren't operating right and a member here, forgetting name.. said that you can just hold it and put a ball thru and 'feel' where it isn't working right and give the pins a gentle nudge if needed to re-align. I know this is nothing to like 99% of y'all but for me, I had to be very brave to do this and trust in the knowledge of the members here. 3 of the '2 function' tulips and one of the '1 function' tulips.. if that makes sense. The 2 function ones have a little leaf switch that I need to align properly when I put back in the machine. I think I'm going to paint the little white lines that have faded over time with a toothpick before I put them back in.

I feel like I'm really getting somewhere thanks to y'all.. and I'm getting less worried about breaking something because I know with the resources here I can't break anything too awfully. Thank you all for your help!

That being said, what's the best way to re-align the leaf switches when I screw them back in? Does the one inside the machine ride on top of the tulip? That logically makes sense but I'm still wanting to be cautious!

I'll try and get some tomorrow.. the work room aka the dining room only has one 40w bulb in the entire thing, even the best camera in the world would have problems and boy let me tell you, mine is one of the worst. Gotta have some sunlight to work with

i have found that taking the lief switch apart is the easiest way to fix them.. pull the flat lief bits straight out and straighten them.. take a sharp knife and cut slots back into the plastic... reinsert the lief and then i use a fine time soldering iron to melt the plastic back and hold the lief in place....

scary the first few times i did it, but now its no biggy

I been using one like this for over 10 years working on Pachinko's ., Pachislo's , and working on my vehicles .

One of members came up with this nifty cool kit to rewire the vintage machines and use a cherry micro switch instead of reworking the leaf switch but I have in the past fixed the old copper leaf switches .
