Default New modern Pachinko......a new problem.

I got a (new to me) modern hanemono "Sparkman" yesterday. When I bought it the electronic shooter knob would spring back when you took your hand off of the knob. Now....out of the truck.....the handle does not spring back. Does anyone know if there is a spring on the knob.....or a lock button? I will add pictures in a few as the pictures are on my phone. Thank you for your help.

How about a shot of the lower rear of the machine. It might have the spring, nail, and thingamabob with holes for setting spring resistance like a vintage has. Might just be a matter of hooking a spring or something of the sort.

I have a machine in the same frame. Moved it to another house (without internet), and needs to be cleaned. I'll look at the shooter and see what I can learn.

Give the trigger a jiggle and see if it pops back. I moved one not carefully enough and someone jammed it up. A wiggle sorted her out

I removed the motor (first disconnect the 2 wiring harnesses). Could see a half round cam that a small cable wrapped around. The cable went straight up. Couldn't see much more...so I reluctantly removed the plate the motor mounted to. 4 wood screws and 3 machine nuts hold it on. Once the plate is removed, it is clear to see how it works. The cable goes up, and wraps around a pulley that must have the spring attached to it. I didn't see the spring...but I expect it ia behind (towards the front of machine) it, wrapped around the shaft that the pulley rotates on.
I expect your cable slipped off, or cable broke, or something like that. Only way to tell is remove the motor and plate.
My camera seems to be working again...so I will try to take some pics.

Here is the cam and pulley I described earlier. KINDLE_CAMERA_1472679811000.jpg The knob is directly opposite the half circle cam at the bottom. The slightest movement opens the micro switch, which I believes starts the motor...which I have not tried to prove yet. KINDLE_CAMERA_1472679767000.jpg Not sure if you can tell from either of these pics...but the spring is in fact wrapped around the shaft that the upper pulley rotates on. One end hooked to the pulley, and the other attached to the frame (for lack of a better description) to the left. The motor has a 3 prong cam that flips the hammer.KINDLE_CAMERA_1472679941000.jpg I didn't take a reassembled pic, but at the 6 o'clock position on the motor is a hole in the plastic cover. Turning the screw inside adjusts the sensitivity of the ground ring on the shooter knob. All the way in one direction, and you need firm contact of skin to metal ring on shooter knob. All the other way, and it will shoot even if you touch plastic only. Above the motor is a screw within a white plastic ring. It will rotate a bit when the knob is turned. This screw feels funny when turned...then clicks. This screw adjusts the strength of the shot. All the way in one direction...balls won't make it onto the playfield. All the way in the other direction...balls fly hard into the rebound bumper on the left. And finally, when you get your shooter fixed...if it is too loud, the volume switch is behind the front door. Open the front glass, you will find a small metal tab on the right. This releases the front door that the feeder tray is on. You will probably want to havr NO balls in the feeder tray. Once the door is open, you will see a sliding switch.KINDLE_CAMERA_1472688604000.jpg Top is loudest, bottom is quietest. Since this frame has only 1 speaker...lowest setting is quiet enough without adding volume controls.

In the previous post...pic #1 shows the knob rotated to maximum strength. Pic #2 shows knob at rest.

Wow! You did some great detective work here. I can't thank you enough. The pictures will really help me. In checking out the spring.....you also answered another question I had. I did not know where the volume control was. I will be turning it down as they all are loud (according to my wife). Thank you again.
