Cool centerpiece and lost ball mod

This is the machine of the 54 the lady has chosen as the first to clean up. It's actually a cool PLAYFIELD with a trap door above the center piece and a turning portion that changes the face lol,

probably thecoolest part part is the mod that's installed at the bottom (purple box) that sends lost balls back to the front of the machine. Anyone seen this before or have any information. I may have to make a few for my other machines :-)

mine was a bit rusty on the chrome but it worked great

the mod on the back looks professional.. not some home made thing... its interesting..

I can pull it off and snap some pictures if you like. It looks injection molded, id have to agree it doesnt look home made.

It's possible that it is original to the machine, but has been modified internally to re-direct the ball. Taking it off would tell you very quickly.

Hi Carl! I was going to take it off but the lady says it's her machine and she likes it lol! So I guess it's there to stay for now. Haha. Sorry for no pictures tonight,had to work on the car all the sudden, will try to get on there tomorrow night

Hey max! Good to see you! The lady loves that machine! Does yours have that odd ball return to the lower tray ?

That machine doesn't as it is a Nishijin. Though I do have an Okumara-Yuki that I saved years ago and it does have the same setup. It doesn't return balls to the front tray. It just takes and funnels the 2 tubes into one at the back.

Interesting. I need to find some time to pull that thing off and get some pictures and measurements.

That machine is starting to jog my memory more now. It returns the winning ball to the front tray along with the payout. As these are all 11 machines meaning 11 ball payout. Well the jackpot mech only holds 10 balls. So the 11 ball is the one used to hit the jackpot.

But you do still need a tray in the back to catch the lose balls.

On this one the lose goes to the lower tray and the win to the top. No tray for the back, It's an odd bird

So that eliminates the need for a ball catch tray... Maybe this could be a potential 3D printed part for those who would like to modify their machines; would need some pretty accurate measurements of all the pieces though.

Finally had a moment so I removed the covers and found the only modifications are to the lower portion so i attached some photos. Pretty slick
