    Default Error Code HE

So picked up a Pachinko machine off of craigslist. Everything works and it came with 30 tokens. I can rotate the hopper dial by hand and it shoots out the tokens.

I cycled a bunch of tokens thru the machine to build up credits, and made sure the hopper had the 30 tokens inside it. I played until I had a credit of 5 tokens and then pressed the payout button to see if the 5 tokens would dispense.

I get the Error Code HE.

I have 600 tokens on order, just waiting for them to show up. I'd kinda like to know if there is something wrong with the hopper and the dispenser

    My questions:

    1. How does the hopper sense that it is empty?
    2. Why isn't 30 tokens in the hopper enough for it to at least dispense 5 of them?
    3. Anyway to "trick" the hopper into thinking its full just so I can test the dispensing?
    4. What do these switches on the power supply, under the reset key and power switch mean (see pictures)?

    Thanks in advance.

Did it dispense tokens then go to error, Or just straight to error
I had a similar fault with a Bisty machine. The psu wasn't sending power to the hopper motor, so it would never payout and went into error.

Its also worth tracing the motor wires, disconnecting them and try running the motor off a 9v battery (disconnected from the machine) just to make sure the motor and gearbox is good.

It went immediately to the HE code. I see two wires that run directly to the motor, but I think the motor says 24V on it, so I am not sure a 9V will turn it.

you can do it without any tokens. Its just a basic test to confirm the motor and gearbox works. I tested mine from a 12v car battery.

OK, I removed the DC Motor and tested it with a 12V car battery. It turned just fine.

I also ordered 600 tokens and filled the hopper. I used my finger to spin the "dial" on the hopper and it shot out tokens.

Still, after resetting the machine and then playing for a while to build up some credits, I get the "HE" error when I press the payout button. So what is causing it to give the HE error code?

Simple. The main processor is meant to be sending a signal to the PSU. That tells the motor to turn and fire out the tokens.
If the sensor that detects the token EXITING the hopper doesn't get a signal with in a set time. The machine goes in to error.

As you say it doesn't payout any tokens before error.
And the motor turns when connected to a battery.
It doesn't go into fault when you turn the machine on. So it can't be the hopper sensor.

You either have a fault with the CPU not sending the signal to the PSU

    or
Your PSU is faulty and not sending power to the motor.

Darn. Was hoping it was something simple.

Well, now I need to find some parts - a new PSU or CPU. Everything is in Japanese, so I'll post some pics in hopes one of you knows where to go for parts.
