Univiversal HANARI Aruze Hanabi machine not working.

I have a HANARI machine that does not work. When turned on the only thing that comes on is the lights in the bottom and top. Its just like none of the rest of the machine does anything. There are no digital displays. I checked both fuses in the front and they are both good. There are some led lights on the board that light up. I do not know which ones should light up. Does anyone know what could cause this? Thanks

you should at least be getting a sound that there is an error.

the first thing to do is unplug it, then reseat all the connectors you can see, its usually poor connections causing most problems.

Unplugged it. Reseated all connections. No change. It is like power is getting to the flourescent lights or what ever they are. I am new to these slots. Like there is no power getting to anything else. No displays no reel lights no pay line lights. No sound of any kind. Could this be like a bad board causing this?

I'm thinking this is a pachislo? rather than a pachinko? so will move to Pachislo section for you



also trying to locate details about this model but can't seem to find it, is that the manufacturer 'Universal' and model name 'Hanari'?

as Members that have the same machine (or by same manufacturer) may be able to give more specific advice as to what should be happening .

What do you mean by check the service reset key. What do i need to be checking.

the key or switch on the power supply, normally in the bottom left corner next to the hopper

If you mean try resetting the machine. I have done that with no results. I am going to be putting some pics up soon i hope.

no worries, (I know we may have members that only check specific forums so I try and make sure I get the tech problems in the right place to get the quickest replies for you, hopefully )

Hanabi manufactured by Aruze (Universal) around 1998

this one will be a 1,2, or 3 token bet machine

btw was it the full hard reset you tried (the one that includes the odds change) as that one can usually solve most problems and is a good place to start

hopefully someone here can offer some more trouble shooting ideas for you

So far no matter what i do none of the displays on the door shows up.

Any ideas. Doing a reset does nothing. You really can not do a reset because There is nothing in the display areas so it is doing nothing. It is like the board is doing nothing at all. All you get are the 2 flourescent lights.

The lights run off a different voltage to the electronics. If the machine is completely dead with no sign of life or glowing leds except for the lights. Then your going to have to follow the power through the machine and try to see why. First place to look is the power supply in the bottom of the machine. Remove it. Open it and inspect. Check all fuses with a continuity tester, not just looking at it.

I do have some leds on the board at the top that light up. The pics in post 11 show that. But the game is like it is dead. With those leds on would that show the board is getting the power it should?

on the 5th pic there is an led on. I can't read what it says on the circuit board.
