    Default Lumina frame error

I recently received a lumina frame and several cells in the mail. The cells seem to work fine in my other Lumina frame. The frame I just received had been modified to be cyclical. The plastic strips that had been installed to make it cyclical had come off in shipping - so the frame and ball payout didn't work properly. I took the ball payout mechanism out, scraped off the remaining hot glue and reattached the strips In manner that it pays out and drops balls out the back as it was originally intended. Now the problem is - every time the machine goes into a reach or a jackpot, it goes to an error screen and the animatronics pout momentarily like the machine is starting up. I took a photo in hopes that someone reads Japanese or has some idea. P.S. - The machine was doing this behavior even before I fixed the strips back to the original setup. Any advice or even speculation would be appreciated. Thanks!

Out of interest, what size transformer are you using?
are there any error codes on the 7seg display on the back of the machine?

Is the 7seg display the single digit red light that shows a dash when there are no errors? If so, it shows a dash right now. Otherwise could you tell me where to find it? Thanks!

What siZe transformer are you using. Check the output with the machine switched on if you can do if safely.

Shouldn't it be 24 volts? (and at the least, 5 amps.)

Ai. If the transformer rating is too low, the voltage can drop off during high demand, like heavy animatronic use or high processor power, this can cause the machine to freeze, blank out the screen or reset, or other strange faults.

As Wayne says above, It should be a 110/120v to 24v transformer rated at 5A (125va) or higher. It is possible to use a 12v twin winding transformer, but a lot more complicated to wire up, So best not to use them if unsure.

Here is a link to a 110V/5A 24VOut Transformer that would work on your frame.

Here is what my transformer currently looks like. Do you still feel the output is too small?image.jpgimage.jpg

Your transformer isn't connected correctly. Only half of the transformer is getting voltage. It is only putting out 12 volts.

To get 24 volts output, (On the input side), both black wires should be connected together, and both red wires together. Then connect those to the 120 volts.

(On the output side), The two blue wires should be connected together to get 24 volts output.

I think you mean use the 2 blue wires on the output.

So connect the blue wires to the machine and blank off the yellow? Or you just get 12v 8A can't see on this iPhone screen

DO NOT connect the two blue wires together.

The description clearly says that 24Vac is available on the blue wires with the yellow wire as a centre tap (for the 0v in a 12-0-12v configuration).

If you connect the blue wires like in Wayne-Ooo's diagram you will short circuit the output wires on the transformer and blow it's internal thermal fuse.

The primary side in his diagram (where the red pair and black pairs are connected together) is the correct wiring for 120v input.

It's not clear from the photo if the other red/black wires are not connected at all or are connected together. With only one set of red/black wires connected and the others pair unconnected your transformer will only be using half it's primary windings and while the output voltage will be correct, it will not be able to supply the full 4 amps and may overheat. If the other red/black wires are connected together, then the output voltage will be halved (as this is the configuration used for 240v input voltages).

The best advice I can give you right now is... Don't tamper with any of the wiring, if you're not sure of your ability with electrical equipment, you don't want to be messing around with live power wiring.

If you want to check anything yourself (and feel confident enough to do so) get yourself a multimeter and make a few measurements first.

I apologize for the incorrect information/diagram listed above. Daverob is absolutely correct. (Thank you Daverob)

DO NOT connect the blue wires together.

Thanks guys! Connected the red wires together and black wires and everything seems to be working now. I'm really grateful for all of your tips and feedback!
