Default Newbie needs help! Kyoraku Machine

    Hello!
I have recently jumped into the pachinko pool and purchased a machine at an estate sale for not much money.
I'm fairly technically inclined and I have a base understanding of physics and electronics. However, with that said I like to have a schematic or manual for ref.

Ok so I bought myself a Kyoraku PRO Treasure Island SUPER STARS LED machine (that's all of the words on the machine basically).
I have searched the internet and not found much (fellow selling a rusted broken one on ebay for $175). Cannot find out the year, or any manual or schematics or anything.

The machine has been rewired for a 'switch' to turn it on/off (its literally a light switch) and the Cabinet its in feels aftermarket.
I can plug it in, some lights come on, but thats it. the LED display in the center does not do anything, and the triggers and mechanisms do not work unless finagled manually.
Everything looks firm and plugged in. I unplugged each connector and checked for corrosion and made sure the connection was solid.
I plan to take a multi-meter to each connection to see if there is actually power making it through the system, but I suspect not.

    Question;

    - what year/era is this machine (late 80s I'm going to guess)?
    - how common is this machine?
    - there is an Ebay seller selling 'schematics and wiring' for ALL pachinko machines on a DVD. I've emailed asking for details if he has info on this machine, but am skeptical. Is this legit?
    - am i SOL and have a nice piece of wall art?

Any help or direction would be great. I'm excited to this up and running!

I have attached a stack of photos to this for reference.

    Welcome Aboard

That there is 宝島 - Treasure Island
    from 1992
    http://p-pachinko.blogspot.co.uk/199...og-post_1.html

Here's a video of one in action. Sort of.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InZQIBoUzmc

First thing is with a 24vac power supply connected, drop a ball in the start pocket in the middle below the screen, It is also a good idea to have a couple of hundred balls in the rear tank as well.
Does the screen come to life, does it payout any balls?
The other empty sockets are probably the parlour connections and nothing to worry about yet?
How about a picture of the whole back of the machine.

I suspect, maybe a previous owner might have plugged it in without a transformer or such like, Best thing to do is have a look at the board where the red power wire comes in. As nothing seems to work, That would be the best place to start.

    Hello and thanks

I'll get a full pic of the back of the board tonight.
When i plug it in, only 1 light comes on, when i open the glass door a light on the right side of the machine flashes (I suspect this is a security measure) but beyond that none of the other electrical elements work.
LED screen in the middle does not come on or flash or do anything.

no pay out or anything with balls dropped in any of the slots.

there is a large transformer connected to the power cord.

I am going to take a closer look at the fuses tonight too.

    More pic to come

    thanks

As I understand it...both 24 Volt AC, and 110 volt AC machines have the same plug???? I could be wrong, but seems I heard that. I believe all use 24 VAC. Some plug directly into a parlor 24 VAC system, some have a 100VAC to 24VAC transformer, and plug into Japans 100 VAC power grid. Do you have a transformer? When plugged in, (a little late to isolate the transformer from the machine) does it put out 24VAC? If more...hopefully a fuse protected it. I have heard of diodes blowing and protecting the rest of the machine...harder to fix...but doable!
I am no electronic wizard. These are things I have picked up from reading about moderns. Hopefully yours will be easy to fox! there are members who are very good at troubleshooting electronics, and can help you fix this...so, no you are not SOL...yet. You came to the right place!
    Good luck...and Welcome to PACHITALK!

how many pachinko balls do ya have for it..

there has to be balls in the back top hopper before the machine will pay out.. seen many machines no working simply cause there are not enough balls..

    and of course

Alright I found some time and checked and poked and well.... I don't know enough of the schematic, but yea, me thinks the wiring on this is fried.

I may take it out of the big cabinet it is currently housed in and frame it and hang it on the wall beside the other one until I can find somebody local to give me a hand.
I have just picked up a 76 Nishijin Shiroi-Kamome Deluxe that does work (nice and manual styleee) so I can at least still play !

    thanks

    Local is Columbus Ohio...

However... I have had a breakthrough, I traced wires and poked and prodded and realized one of the fuses I thought was good was in fact blown... $.50 for a new fuse and ...

    https://goo.gl/photos/96186iuZMDYdM6Z38.

Now I have many questions about what the lights and the flashing and the slot machine middle part are doing... not sure of the plot of the game, but if that hits X is there a payout or something? it bings and bongs and flashes, but there is never a payout other than the 15 balls. Does anybody know the purpose/goal of the center?

    Thanks

To the site that Never closes

If you could get a nice camera video of the center feature and upload it on Youtube we have a youtube movie strip icon up on top in the reply box we could possibly get you more info . Great job finding that bad fuse and you might want to wire a volume control on that speaker cause I know that even the old Moderns are pretty loud .

    Hi there

There is already a good vid of the slot machine thing in the center online here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InZQIBoUzmc

It does "stuff" but I don't know if its an extra payout or what. it doesnt really show the end result other than just more songs

Good call on the volume control. I will def investigate this since it is really quite loud

Looks like when you get three in a row it starts the flashing pockets challange , Some of the earlier Moderns had some "Unique " what we call here Fevers Enjoy your machine I've own over 100 Pachinkos since I started back in 1976 and each one of them was and still is a real kick in the pants to play and maintain .
