Default New member from Southern Utah

I was serving in the US Air Force and stationed in Utapao Air Base, Thailand, 1969-1970 during the Vietnam War. In the spring of 1970 I had an assignment that took me to Vietnam, Taiwan, and Japan. While in Tokyo I went with a friend to a surplus sale of used Pachinko machines. We each bought one. I do not remember what we paid, but I do remember it cost more to ship it to the US than it cost to purchase. When I returned home I got it out and played it for hours. I couldn't wait to have children to share it with. I boxed it up and put it in the storage shed to wait for the kids. A few years later I sold the house. I took the Pachinko machine with me, but once again it was just stored away, waiting to get some time to rescue it. Well, long story short, it has been in storage ever since. For the past 22 years it has been in the attic above my garage. The kids have come and gone--each have kids of their own now. My own kids never saw the Pachinko machine. My wife and I are planning, what I hope is our last move, so I decided I'm either going to get the Pachinko machine out and give it to one of my grand kids or its going to be thrown away. It has been stored for 45 years. It's good we live in the desert southwest or I'm afraid it would have rusted away. Dusted it off, cleaned it up a bit, and loaded it with the 285 vintage balls it came with--and started playing. Because of a few hang-ups I decided it was time for some light-weight machine oil in as many pivot points as I could find. Before long it was working well. My wife and I played till past midnight. The first set of grand kids have now played it and they'd rather play than eat.
I'm so pleased to have found this web site. I've already asked a couple of questions about the three lights. One doesn't work right. It's lighted at all times. The other two work perfectly. I'll be watching the Vintage Pachinko location for the answers to my question. Thanks to all.
