    Default 1978 Mizuho Restore

My final Ebay purchase showed up slightly busted at my door. Quite a shame, as this machine is mostly straight, and 95% complete. No matter. Here we go:

Seriously, this thing was a snap. It had the "Stainless" field (Screen print on formica, with clear overlaminate) good wiring and switches, decent nails (just some gunge on the shafts) and no busted parts. More to follow.

Cleaning and reconditioning. I had to use a bit of bondo to recreate the missing bottom tray. With the prize ball tray in the back missing, I fitted a wooden one for the time being. After a polish, paint touchup, fresh case, its ready to play. Pays out like nuts. A quick note -- I also have a '77 Mizuho, and the bottom detail around the lower prize tray is cast metal, not cast and chromed plastic. A curious change for '78.

The final pics. I usually mount the finished machine in a quick cabinet -- just poplar or maple with 6" sides and top, and a 10" base. Felt pads on the bottom. Looks sharp on a matching table. As soon as I can find an upper rear prize tray, it will be fully restored!
