    Smile Stop Board

I'm trying to find the schematic for this stop board.

It doesn't seem to be the one in the museum. Maybe it is though.

Top white connector is 1x8 positions
Bottom black connector is 2x5 positions

what are you in need of knowing, what the pinout of the white connector is or the entire board? The white connector pinout is standard for all pachislo's with it.

    Compirate,
Thank you again. That is my answer. I'm interested in the standard white one.

Can you tell me any more about the connector itself? I see it is 1x8 positions at .100" pitch. If you only knew the manufacturer or series of the corresponding part.

And can you tel me any more about the signal. I don't have an oscilloscope. I can check it for voltage. Thank you again for the schematic in the library. That gives me the pin outs.

Just a little info on that board. Most people refer to that board as a stopboard, but really it's just a Parlor Interface Board. It is normally mounted where the stopboard would be mounted, on most machines. On the newer machines the stopboard is in the Motherboard and don't have an external stopboard, as the older machines have. So, this Interface board is used to connect the battle counter, in the Parlor.
What if...the HOKEY POKEY, is what it's all about?

They're just contact connections from the relays.

Are you looking for the corresponding connector for that? I might have one floating around somewhere....

I guess you mean this one.

common ground pin 6. I guess the rest are N.O

as for the make of plug, Don't know. ut looking at pics online, people have used quite a few different types of 2.54mm plugs

although these type of connectors, you buy the internal crimp parts seperateky from the housing

Thank you for your generous offer! I can make a generic connector up, without latching or polarity, for my purposes. If you come across a real one, please post a picture.

I made up an 8 position connector. Got some help understanding the schematic.

Maybe you gentlemen can help me again.

I'm able to count the Tokens In on pin 1, works great every time.
I see the small LED on the stop board illuminate and hear the relay click.

My problem is the other pins don't work the same. I still see the small LEDs on the stop board illuminate and hear the relays click.
But I'm unable to capture the relay contacts for any pin other than pin 1.

There is a note on the schematic about applying 24 volts to pins 7 and 8. I have not tried that as it looked like that is related to a reset.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

You are using pin 6 as a common ground for the other connections, right? Try connecting just the Tokens Out and Ground (2 and 6) to a counter and see.

Pin 7 and 8 are for remotely resetting the machine, I think after a bonus (if you have the switch on the power supply flipped that way).

By the way, I think the connector is a JAE's IL series

Was able to test for the other relay pins. Pin 2 (Tokens Out) advances for a replay or a regular win. Does that sound correct? I thought tokens out would be when the "cash out" button was pressed on the front and tokens shoot out into the lower tray. This does make sense though, in terms of what a parlour may be interested in. But again, I thought a regular win is the same as a regular bonus?

Please indulge me and explain, if you know, the pins 2 to 5. What triggers these relays?
    2 - Tokens Out
    3 - Regular Bonus
    4 - Big Bonus
    5 - CT Bonus

I do believe I'm able to count the signals on any pin. Just wonder what the parlour would do with that information...

That connector information is great. Wonder where to buy because it doesn't appear at mouser or digikey. Thank you though!

I thought the idea of data counters is to mislead the next customer to play a machine, rather than the parlour its self. If a customer is looking at all the data counters in a row and sees one with a long line of bonuses listed in the last 24 hours they might avoid that machine as it might now go through a long dry spell, also if they can see the ratio of tokens out to bonuses, it might give a vage reading of what the skill level is set at. I guess it counts replays as 3 tokens out as it may mislead a potential player to think that machine is looser than it actually is.

Tokens in - any tokens PLAYED (divide by 3 on average to get Games Played)
Tokens Out - any tokens WON (replays are wins, in a way)
Reg Bonus - Should say on the front of the machine - on my Gin Gin Maru, it's BAR BAR BAR. Might also be blue 7's
Big Bonus - usually the characters of the theme of the game or Red 7's. Better chance of another bonus.
Chance Time - This varies with machine - situation where getting a bonus is better.

A lot of the information the parlor is interested in is cheating. A player is playing a lot, not winning very much and not buying many tokens (they monitor the loaners too). Imagine being able to sit at your desk and know when a game is played, how well it's doing, remotely zoom the cameras in on them to watch. Tell your Yakuza bros. to 'Get him!' (in Japanese ). Rule the Parlor with an Iron Fist! Muuuhahahahahah!

It's ok to get carried away.

Thanks for the answer. I would have to play and get the regular bonus, big bonus and chance time on my machine to see what happens. The chance time might close the relay every second or just once when chance time is entered.
