Talking We're off to outer space...

And to join with our vintage Heiwa "Bull", comes the Sankyo V-Trigger Yamato Revival machine. We ordered it from Akimono, and it came with the volume controls pre-installed (although I bought a pair of stereo volume pots just in case).

This is probably going to be our limit of machines until we, say, get a house with a dedicated pachinko room.

Took me a bit to figure out how to open and close the ball dump, partly because it's only labeled with a big white label written in Japanese.

I'm probably going to go see if I can drop into the pachinko gaming trance now and hit some reaches.

I recognized that quote instantly! It's a great, great machine. I got one from Akimono back in July. A must for any Yamato/Starblazers fan. Congratulations! You'll have a blast with it.

Apparently the server had a hiccup when I put in the initial entry and I thought it was lost. Apparently not.

I can vouch that Sankyo did a great job with this machine.

Got my first fever on it. Definitely going to have to up my cabinet building plans here. The machine only holds about 450 balls when absolutely full, which makes keeping up with the fever mode insane, so I'll need to make sure that the cabinet provides a hopper extension. I also need at least TWO containers that will fit under the overflow tray so I can empty it more efficiently. And a better sized catch tray for the back.

I already did some pin tweaking to improve my chances of getting balls into the targets.

Congratulations on getting your first fever! There are three different payouts for the fever for that machine. One pays out around 500, one around a thousand, and the other around 2000. When I get the fever rounds, I empty out the top hopper in about 45-60 seconds.

OK, I took some time this evening with the little label printer, and labeled some important stuff on the back. Figured out where a lot of things are, including the factory volume (set it to low to give some added margin on the volume pots), the memory reset (although I labeled it "breaker" to start with), and a couple of other things. I'm still looking for a good translation of the error code list on the machine that I can print out and tape to it.

OK, so Sunday I hit the BIG CRAZY FEVER MODE with the machine. And I hit another fever before that, and I could tell I was about to go into it that time when Yuki Mori came up on the screen for a second.

Oh, and at the very least I'll probably stick my 10" model of the Yamato near the machine once it's set up in the permanent place in the apartment. Such a pity my husband bought me a working Commodore 64 for Christmas instead of a 1:350 scale motorized and lit Yamato model kit to assemble.

OK, we've finally "homed" the two pachinko machines, after a trip to IKEA and rearranging of the "games corner" of the living room.

    GEDC0103.jpg

One thing we did do was add some "feet" to Yamato to make it more stable. Which will be important, because people coming over for Christmas, and a couple of them might want to play it.

They look good up there. You definitely need the feet for Yamato it to keep it stable. I'm hoping to get mine in a cabinet in the next few weeks.
