    Default Powerflash, Not Powerflash?

Check out this listing I just found on Craigslist, it has the king, queen and jack in front just like a typical powerflash, but yet it's not a powerflash. Oh my god so amazing. Just kidding around, I thought I might as well post it. Never seen a regular looking pachinko with powerflash add-ons before. Please enjoy and comment.

Just a bit of history here: When the importers brought machines into the USA, they often received machines with missing and broken parts. They would "recondition" them by mixing and matching parts. I have gotten a few "standard" machines with some powerflash bling, but they are easy to spot as *******ized machines because the bling is nailed in right on top of the tax stamp. Additionally, you can often find 1972 Nishijin machines with plastic 1976 tulips installed, with the holes for the original tulip nails still showing. The importers did lots of things like that which can make you crazy trying to figure out what is original and what is not.

Although, as Mopar pointed out, the manufacturers did occasional do things like put standard playfields on powerflashes, I had one once and it was definitely from the factory. Sometimes you find 1972 playfields on 1973 Nishijins, and sometimes you find playfields for recyclers on standard machines and vice versa. The powerflash I had had a 1972 playfield, 47A-Y, typically only found on Aoi Umi machines which is really screwed up considering that Powerflashes were only made in 1974. That makes the playfield 2 years older than the machine production. Who knows, maybe they found a stack of them in the corner and decided to use them up.

Now you made me curious...what does a 47A-Y background look like?
