    Default Terminator on Pawn Stars

Ok who watched Pawn Stars tonight? Corry paid $326 for a Terminator 2 pachislo (aka Carrot Top).He didn't know anything about them and never even used the word pachislo. The original owner claimed to pay over $800. They showed the game hit a 3 bell payout which should be 10 credits and it was edited to look like at least 30 tokens were coming out. Well if he paid $326 he is looking to resell it for $500 or more? I have owned a few of these and never paid more then $125, the original with Arnold doesn't even demand that much. I guess they should of called in an expert on this.

I saw that, too, and was laughing at them again. The can't decide which was the funniest part: When Corey said that he never saw anything like it before or when the owner said that he paid over $800 for it.

There were other episodes where they bought pinball machines and video games. Either the cost in that area is through the roof, or they know absolutely nothing about the value of the machines. I'm assuming the latter. Lol!

Pawn Stars should not deal with any coin-op devices until they learn more about their value. Until then, they will continue to overpay and lose money.

I also like near the end, when there pushing the machine on a furnature dolly.. its laying on its back.. seeing how they know little or NOTHING about it im sure tokens are everywhere... and the video games they bought and over paid for last year are still stored in the back room of the shop

That pawn shop is located in a rough part of las vegas and now they have a tour bus going there. Before the history channel got a hold of them , I am sure they did some shady dealings. Now it looks like they have money to burn, with a rock star status..It does look like the back rooms have a large inventory of over priced junk.I have never been in a pawn shop that pays out like they do.

all the people in these "so called" reality shows are getting paid to do them. they make money either way.

beleive about 10% of what you really see, most of them are scripted!!

Craig Ferguson is one of the best shows on tv, not much scripted, its almost all adlib and very funny

I was in Vegas in June and my son really wanted to go see Pawn Stars. We had a limited amount of time and lots to do, so we were thrilled to find out that they were open 24 hours!! We stopped by at 8:30 a.m. on our way out of town heading back to Denver, only to find a line at the door and the doors locked. There were two large signs on the building that said "Open 24 Hours" and "We Never Close", yet the place was locked up and a small sign on the door stated the business hours were 9:30 AM to Midnight.

    Go figure...

No way they never saw a pachislo before. Also, he went on about how it had been "modded for tokens" lowering its resale value. Maybe he should trade places in the shop with Chumlee.

I finally saw that episode and I think they just think it's a regular slot machine. There are so many in Vegas. I really like the show along with American Restoration and American Pickers. I think the Pawn Shop guys are not all that knowledgeable about everything. They call in a lot of experts which is cool.
They also screw up and overpay for stuff as well. They probably overcharge as well. That makes them more real, to me at least.
It's pretty scripted as you can see that when a seller or expert appraiser comes in, the store is mostly empty, the rest of the time it seems packed.

on storage wars the other day they found 2 safes full of mostly cheap coin sets, they made them seem to be expensive, shipwreak coins that were copies, a gold "plated" 20.00 gold proof piece with COA, some graded quarters etc

about the only good thing was about 10 old silver dollars they found in there. worth around 25.00 to 30.00 each

American Restoration is a sleep reducing show. I love the way they restore rusty junk to brand spanking new condition!
Now if they would only restore a vintage pachinko machine on there for us. Something very old and very rare.

I remember seeing that episode. I really think Storage Wars is staged. They seem to bid on storage containers full of junk and then find some random collectible in it. Plus when they say what the profit margin is they just walk through the bin with the guy who bought it saying, "that chair will bring $75, tv is worth $100, old gas can $25 etc." They are just making it up as they go.
