Default Island cabinet that holds 8 machines

So I have been sitting here with so much clutter I can't play my machines and just over all bummed. I have been trying to figure out how to change things here so I can enjoy things better. I started brain storming and realized I have not been in the front room other than to clean moms desk in the last 5 months. I looked at the room and came up with a plan to be able to display all my (vintage) machines ready to play (with room for more) but am trying to think of what to do with stuff. I was looking at the desk wondering what to do with it as it is hard to move yet can't fit out the door and I thought jokingly that I could put pachis on it. after looking I was able to picture something and after thinking about it I sat down with a pen to sketch something out. I made one detailed drawing of how I expected it to be built around each machine and then worked out all my lumber from that. I bought the lumber and cut everything the next morning. It went together great!

Here are pics of building it

Here it is with power and machines installed.

    100_2883.jpg100_2882.jpg100_2890.jpg

I will start working on the ball collection system tomorrow, I drilled a 3 inch hole on the middle and can make a collector that can drain into ball trays for easy reloading. for hoppers I think I will go with my "temporary" (I have been using these for years) cardboard hoppers modified to work with the installed machines for now.

When I get a lifter I will make a feed system and am picturing a setup to dump trays of won balls back into the system.

As I get more done I will update. I would have made it about 6-8 inches shorter if I had been able to see it together before building it, I was thinking I would need more above space than I do need but it will work just fine like this.

I would like to know: what the games are, I recognize a few, how much current it draws or does it blow the breaker, and are there any drawings you can send or post in a zip file.

    VERY cool!!!

The games are Eva 1, 2, 3, Star Wars, Indy, Yoon sona, Julie and Gladiator. I wanted to do all Lumina frames but the 8th frame I have is junk, works as a cyclic and a holder for whatever cell I am not using (Monroe at the moment)

current draw is not bad, Figure that with 5 amp transformers on every machine that works out to about 8 amps max draw on the line side. That will go up with counters and a lifter but I already plan to do the lifter on another circuit.

I did lock two of the idiots inside for a few minutes, they just sat and licked themselves, I had to fight one to get him out.

I almost forgot... I plan to draw something up at some point. I have a 2X3 inch sketch of what it looks like around one machine and a list of cut lumber. Everything else I just had in my head

    Nice setup

Are you planning on using one lifter per machine?

Something likea drain gutter from each machine to a main gutter to the ball lifter could work. The top return could have shut off hatches for machine not being used so ball only go to in use machines

I have the ball collection system in now. I used 4 inch wide v channel flashing, a funnel and mighty putty to catch the waste balls and direct them to the hole going to my tub underneath. I will be setting the tub up like I had it in my center stand before so I can slide the tub out and the balls will drain into trays to be put back into play.

It is simple, ugly and works and here are pics.

the balls also make cool sounds as they are traveling the system as well yet are still quieter than how I had it on my old stands

I would have used a plastic material not metal for guttering. But I would prefer quiet system. Will you be trying a ball-dozer? They seem quiet and have a good pump rate. Also uses a large diameter collection funnel

You did a great job, I don't think it's ugly at all. Form follows function. If it gets to loud just put a piece of foam rubber under each shoot to absorb the echo.Ican't wait to see how you make the return systemto each machine.

it is sorta loud if you are just running balls but you can't hear it over a machine running. I wanted to use plastic but when the only thing I could find that would work without 30 hours of modding cost 4 times as much as metal that idea was out the window.
