    looks good

Do you have any pitures of what it looked like before you replaced the cell and everything?

Man you have really come a long way since when it started.

It looks great. It is just amazing to see that is what it looked like before you did anything to it.

Really brave breaking down a valuable machine like that. But it looks like you know what you are doing. I am really happy to see that machine restored to it's former "glory", you are doing a great job.

Thanx Rival. I will be contacting you soon for that cell replacement for my next project. If I didn't tear this machine down it would have been worthless. It was worth the risk.

    Excellent restoration job!!

I have yet to tear down a play field and do a cell replacement, but seeing more and more completed here on PT is really encouraging me. I have an early 50's Union with a cracked and peeling cell that is going to need to be replaced. I may be contacting you for some tips!!

Keep up the excellent work, and keep the pics coming.

That UNION machine is the sweetest vintage that I have ever seen! The cell replacement is the only reservation I had to bidding on it. Hope to see more on it. Did you ever figure out the payout seesaw reset???

Pachiwall. When did you bid on it? I have had it for over a year. And yes I did figure it out. There was a small piece soldered on it like a hinge that broke off. Replacing the cell was hard, many problems. The frame broke. I had to glue it back. Over all I am super proud of the final results

I have set it aside for the time being. I have another 1950's era machine to finish restoring before I can get to it. Hopefully I can begin on the Union and several other early machines in my collection soon. I will start a post when I begin.

Back in april 2011. I think the auction ended on april 11. MrGneiss started alerting us with a thread titled "Cool Old Vintage!!" Because no one bid on it in days, I thought it was over everyone's threshold of what they were willing to pay. I didn't have my counterbid typed up and index finger hovering over the enter button...so I watched it get away as I frantically typed. I remember you looking for help to figure out the seesaw reset... but never saw that you finally figured it out. As I reread Cool Old Vintage!! I can't help but laugh. That is one funny thread!

Not the same machine. I've had it for almost 2 years. Although it had the same problems

I think there is some confusion and we are talking about two different machines. Pachiwall was trying to hijack your thread and ask me about the "Cool Old Vintage" machine that he was bidding on, but I won. Here is the threard: http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/ebay...d-vintage.html

Guilty as charged. Beautiful job...What brand is that? I couldn't make it out (or pronounce it) on the new or old cell. Excellent job on the ball tracks. I have a Ginza with brittle ball tracks, now I know what to do. So it is safe to assume that there is only 1 Union machine that we know about.
