    Default make a tulip??

What would you use to make a tulip? not repair one, but make a new one.

Epoxy resin, fiberglass epoxy, other thing?

and what would you use to make the mold from an other tulip to cast new ones?

What you're asking has already been done. Check out my thread "Taiyo "Mars Arrival" and read the last few posts. It wasn't a tulip but it would be the same technique and likely the same or similar materials.

Do a google search for casting resins and silicone mold making. One good place to look is a company called Smooth On.
There are thanks options based in color, strength, use, etc.

for tulips, it's probably easier to just buy a pair off a salvage machine.

there are a lot of fine details in the way the seesaw ramp engages with the plastic tulips.

I considered trying to machine a couple, but decided that it would be more than I had time or patience for.

even casting them you would have to get a very accurate mold and have the angles and flanges "just right" to work.

I bought my tulips from vintage pachinko for $45 for two, but I am sure that you could find someone here to sell them for cheaper.

I can look though my machines and spare parts, but I won't be back to salinas for another 10 days.

I would do that Mudfud, unfortunately vintage pachinkos here in Canada are mostly non existent. And even more rare in Quebec. The only vintage I found in Quebec province, I got it. Never saw other ones advertised anywhere, and I check CraigList and other ads ever other days.

I know that It will be hard to cast. I already tried, using some powder for molding, but it shrink when dry. Not a good choice for such small part heheheh, So I have a couple of tiny baby tulips hehehehe

see if jwegger has any more parts. I bought some from him a few months back.

also, check YJA, as they have parts listed sometimes, and shipping wouldn't be much for those small parts.

Ultimately it depends on how much patience and time you have to put into it. You're going to have bad casts as you learn the process and there's no doubt more to it than you realize at first. But that's true of many processes. Anyway, as far as detail replication goes, you should be able to reproduce even the finest details. The raised small bird and Japanese writing on the piece Cystic made for
me came out perfect and those are intricate details. Also, the color is spot on as well. I agree with Mudfud that it's easier to just find a tulip but the ability to make your own exact duplicates is a very worthwhile capability IMO.

Not that good at making an offer really, you better state how much you would like to have for and I will say if I'm ok with that or now. I would need more of them, that's why my attempt at building them.

You didn't had a chance to find a vintage near you for $25 or $30 ?

There's many vintage under $40 on Craiglist and you would got more than 2 tulips from one vintage, and many other spare parts for a cheaper price.

Unless you was looking for a specific model of tulip different than the usual one?

I haven't found a pachi yet that I could not fix, so even if I found cheap ones, I could not sacrifice them for parts

hehehe.. that's what scare me too.. buying pachis for parts and ending up trying to restore them all hehehehe

That's a bit why I would like to make my own tulips.. but well.. I could also buy pachis in US using someone else, have this person send the tulips or parts. So no risk of ending up with 50 pachis in the house for parts being restored lol

just one one for me... im sure some one could have fixed it but both front and back trays were totaly destroyed and a bunch of the back was broken .. so i desided to part it..

that was the first one i have seen that could not have been brought back to life...

even when i went and saw the guy that had something like 50 machines most of thouse could have been repaired with enough time and effort
