    Default Restoration recommendation

Hi all. New to the thread. I have a vintage model B Nishijin that is in need of a major restoration. The unit has sentimental value to me. Wrote to pachinkoman.com, no reply. Wrote to pachinkotuneup.com, no reply.

Can someone please make a recommendation for a reputable restoration expert. The machine is tilted like the leaning tower of Pisa. The machine does not pay out, the lights don't light, the plexi is cracked. I live in North Carolina.

Welcome to PachiTalk! That is a great looking Model B you have!

If you are interested in restoring the machine yourself, there is lots of great info on the site to walk you through the process. Check out this thread:

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/vint...o-machine.html

You will also find lots of assistance from the members here to help you if you get stuck.

If you are looking to have someone else restore your machine for you, I think you will find many here who would be happy to do it for you. You would just need to decide how much you would be willing to pay. I'm sure rates would vary.

As for the tilt you describe, the machine/frame should have a 2 degree tilt towards the back to make the machine work properly. Without the tilt, the balls would not flow through the machine properly.

Let us know which kind of help you are looking for and we will respond quickly.

    Again, Welcome to PachiTalk!

    Jeff

    Welcome to PachiTalk!!

I'm sure you would get a lot of satisfaction if you able to work on the machine yourself, especially if it has sentimental value, it probably only needs cleaning and adjusting??

Also if you do not have enough balls in the rear hopper the unit will not work unless you bypass a couple of it's safeguards. It's a gambling machine and if it does not have balls to payout a win it will not let you play it.

Thanks everyone. I sent the unit out for professional restoration. Too much of a learning curve to do it myself. Why reinvent the wheel when folks here know these things up, down, left, and right.

A source for pachinko balls would be nice...
