What is this wire

Hello folks this is my first ever post and to be honest Iv been in the hobbie only a week now but seems to be adicting already ... so I have a question I bought this old daiichi 1976 and wonder what this wire connects to ...mind you I found this photo from someone else and not sure what it goes to ...any help would be great ...warmest regards Michael ...

Now to the question , that rod lets the "jackpot " ball ie the ball that went into a win hole , tulip, ect down into the catch box in the back of the machine .

It also resets the white internal rocker ramp. Very important. The ramp then resets the winning ball mech and helps to reset the jackpot mech

I'm not sure what the activation part is.. but the result should be two fold... 1) as you mentioned to reset the regulation rocker and 2) to open the winning ball gate so it drops out the back.

Now.. this is generally accomplished by the action caused by the jack pot balls falling onto a 'ramp / lever' as the jack pot is paid. Thus.. the paying of the jackpot releases the winning ball and resets the regulation rocker which will 'ends' the reset process.

Check out 'How a vintage pachinko works' sticky... while it was written with a Nishijin model B as a quide... your machine works essentially the same... just a different connector here and there. It will help a lot that as you go through the process of restoring/repairing to think in terms of 'steps in the process' which will simply the fast action of the mechanisms. I hope this makes sense and I've provided some help here.

If your still 'hung up' get some photos of where you think the other end of that wire goes and we can probably help you figure it out.
