I'm sure I speak for several us that the suspense is killing us!!

I'd like to see how that surface rust cleaned up near the front tray.

That tulip in the center stays open twice, then closes. I have one at the bottom of my Nishijin B.

I also agree to not remove the pins just to polish them. I used the Miracle Cloth that takethecastle referenced to polish the heads of the pins and it came out fantastic just like yours did.

I've got the frame about as clean as it's gonna get. And since the etching is over almost everything, I'm just gonna keep it as is.

Also am I the only one that has the problem of disassembling something. And no matter how well you keep track of where everything goes, you still end up with extra screws?

I usually end up with less screws than I started with. Can you send me your extras? I have a couple of missing screws on my Sankyo, LOL!

It has actually cleaned up quite nicely indeed!!

I wouldn't worry about the 'etching' it is an authentic vintage pachinko afterall, and I think that just tells it's own little story and history

I agree with hanabi... the surface imperfections just add to the character of the machine. You did a wonderful job!

I always have extra screws, nuts, washers and other hardware left over, partly because I replace as much as I can with new. I have a medium ziplock container nearly full of "left-overs" if you ever need something specific.

I wanted to thank all of you for your kind words, it's rare to find a message board where people are actually nice to one another.

So today I got to work on the back of the machine. Removing the hopper, dump mechanism, and other feeding trays. Everything that was plastic got the Palmolive treatment, while everything that was metal took a bath in CLR. So everything's clean and running smooth. Didn't have much trouble doing this, although I did have a few time while reassembling everything where I said to myself "Now where the hell does this go?" and "Why do I have two springs?" But I got that sorted out, and everything looks good. I did have to make a trip to the hobby store, after I lost a couple E-Clips. Thankfully I was able to find the sizes I needed without much trouble.

Also took a crack at the electrical. When I removed the Jackpot cover to clean it, I noticed one of the Jackpot lights was burned out, so I replaced them with a couple red LEDs I got from Radio Shack. When hooked up to a 9V battery they look pretty nice.

So after finishing up all the cleaning and wiring, I gave it a spin. Everything worked great, but I am having one problem. The bottom tulip opens up, but the balls can't go in. It looks like the gap for it is somehow too small. I'm only having the problem with this one tulip. I've included some pictures.

u need to adjust the little tabs down inside the tulip..

my guess would be to spread them a bit so the ball will pass threw..

Ok looking at things a little closer, it seems that the orange peddles or flaps can't move. Thus the metal tab can't move lower to let the ball in. It feels like something is jammed or locked up in it.

then the taps might be spread to far???

try pulling them in a bit.. bend them closer together..

if all elsw fails pull the tulip out so u can see the front and back easy.. u can drop balls threw it by had..

Ok never mind, it appears to have fixed itself. Tomorrow I think I'll tear a few things apart, and see if I can get to the bottom of it. Thanks for the suggestion Mopar

the tulips are easy to pull out. just gently lift at the corners where the nails are. they are short nails on these things.

looking down on the tulip brass claws, they might need to be bent in or out to clear the ball. this was a problem on my old marudai.

alternately, there could be something stuck in the tulip on the inside, holding the brass lever down.

it should be pretty obvious when you get it open.
