Default Unusual Vintage I Picked Up

I thought I would post this vintage Pachi since I had never seen one like it before. This came from a garage sale for $25. I liked the colors and thought that it was a bit unusual. If we are still dating the machines from the inspection stickers, then this one is from 1976.

Has anyone ever heard of this brand - Maruto?

    Excellent deal Jeff!!

I have that same "jump" center feature in my Maruhon. In mine though there is a metal "spring board" type deal in the center. I imagine that its for when the balls hit it, they bounce back up slightly.

To be honest, I have'nt played it yet so I dont know what it does.

    Enjoy!!

This one has the same metal spring board you describe, although the photo's didn't show it very well. My guess is that the balls drop down from the top tulip into the center feature, then bounce off the metal spring board into one of three holes behind it.

I hope to load it with balls tomorrow and see how it works.

I got the machine cleaned up and loaded with balls. All I can say is what a fun machine!!! The "Jump" jackpot is soooo cool! When a ball gets in there it bounces up and down like on a trampoline, then goes into one of three pockets, which open one of the other tulips on the machine.

The only thing I don't really like is that both the jackpot win and hopper empty lights are in the same location, so it can be confusing as to whether you won a jackpot or you need to refill the ball hopper. Perhaps I can find another place to install a light and then separate the two.

Overall, the machine is in great condition and only needs minor cleaning. All of the parts and covers are intact.

If the light comes on and then goes off and balls come out, it's a win, if it comes on and stays on, the hopper is empty or the payout is stuck?

True, but when you are really into watching the balls bounce through the machine and waiting for one to hit the center jackpot, you really don't notice whether it's a jackpot light or a ball hopper light.

    cue the bells

Is there a connection on the back for an extra light? Some have the parlor connectors, might be a separate one for errors and winnings.

I think I can relocate the jackpot win light as long as I can find a place to put it. I may need to drill a new hole first, but it would be easy enough to rewire and move.

Why drill? just put a cool light above the machine, I'm sure you can find something out there without mutilating a pachinko.

My preference would be to move the light behind the centerpiece. There are the standard holes for lights behind the jackpot payout mechanism, but I'm not sure you would see it flash because the background piece with the characters on it is opaque, not translucent.

I will need to think on this one a while...

jeff, just replace one of the lights with a blinking LED, then it's really obvious.

I did this on a sankyo, being short on incandescent bulbs, and it's kinda cool...blinky red for refill, yellow for jackpot.

p.s. I have spares if you need one.

Once again, very cool machine Jeff.

Have you tried holding a flashlight behind the jumpers to see if you get any light thru at all?

How about drilling a tiny hole for an LED thats inconspicuous?

you can usually sneak an LED between the plastic center piece and the wood, too.

I did this on my comet baseball and kyoraku's... doesn't alter the original machine this way.
