Default "New Pulsar Extra" pachislo (Green)...great machine!

So I just picked up my first pachislo! My kids love it! I found a very nice stand for it too...photos to come shortly. The guy that had it took perfect care of it and everything is working perfectly.

Since I'm new to pachislo, is the "New Pulsar Extra" an older model? It doesn't have LCD or anything fancy like that. I would like to get an "auto-stop" chip for it? Anyone know if one exists for this model?

    Glad to find this forum!

    Hello,

I believe there are quite a few models with Pulsar in the title

So a pic of the front would be helpful, as i can't actually see one with 'extra' listed in the Research Centre,

Oh that is in the Research Centre after all, it's a 2004 model by Yamasa

PachiTalk Research Center - Yamasa / Niigata - New Pulsar - PachiTalk

Never owned or played any of the Pulsar's, but I'm sure other members have them and can advise on the AutoStop etc

    Congrats on your first Pachislo!!

Interestingly enough, I let this thing spin on it's own and after about 30-45 seconds, the reels will auto-stop if the player doesn't press the buttons. Is that how pachislos work by design? In the door, it looks like I have volume control switch by the speaker for high off and low? Is the volume mod just a knob to control volume for more flexibility? Used Pachislos are mighty rare and hard to come by up here in Idaho. Thanks for the welcome!

    Hi! Welcome to Pachitalk!

I have the same machine in red. I really enjoy the older models, and i think this one is late 90's.

On my machine, the volume switch is actually on the power supply (black box, lower left in the machine) I think it is the three position switch on the upper left side of the box (assuming your power supply is similar to mine)

Unlike most manufacturer volume switches, this one actually makes a difference. Most machines with factory switches do not turn the volume down to an acceptable level, and therefore many owners will install their own, My Pulsar will actually go from very loud, to reasonably quiet with the factory switch.

If you are just getting into pachislos, you have a nice one, but very simple. You can get much fancier machines with LCDs or LED screens, among other bells and whistles. But for some reason, these basic machines such as the Pulsar really appeal to me. Enjoy it!

OK I found you guys!!! I have same machine, just red lights on top. Now, it was OK till now, and it stopped resetting, turning or doing anything, also the third (right) wheel button did not stop the will until it stopped on its own...whats wrong with this machine? Thanks for any help as I do not have manual or troubleshooting books. This is my first machine and after few days it stopped working...I noticed that someone moved wheels (perhaps they should be on any particular order?) Advice please. Thanks

    Welcome to PachiTalk!

I would start by checking all the connections in the machine.

I did that. Also, once in a while machine will reset, and then it will roll wheels but no red buttons work. Machine will stop on its own and then will not pay out nor take any coins. So only reset will get rid of blinking winning light and again no reset can be done ... dont know what else should I do? Thanks for your replay, perhaps any other idea? Thanks

    Hi There

Always best to start with the basics when trouble shooting, so Just wondering if you have you done the full reset procedure?

Here is a link to a post which takes you through the complete procedure, take care to follow each step very carefully, it is easy to miss something and that can prevent the reset

    error help!!!

You will also see mention of the 2 switches and you may wish to check these are in the correct position (usually down or right for home play)

OK, thank very much for this advice, your way to reset works very well!!! It will reset every time and change skill as well (which I could not do before). However, it is good only for one run and stop buttons will not work. Also, after machine stops on its own it will not pay out or take tokens or do anything except flashing winning line!!! There must be something else wrong. Is there any way to reset the electronic boards, perhaps??? Any advice please! Thanks again

By coincident I unplug the three stop buttons, powered on and machine works fine!!! So, I powered off plugged it back and machine works but non of the stops work. Again, powered off and switched wires between buttons and got to the point that they lit and only two of them works. Now I can play, but always have to wait till third wheel stops on its own. Any idea how to eat that problem?
