    Default Payout Channel Jam

Love my Rescue Dog; however, on a couple of occasions, the rear ball channel leading from the payout hopper toward the payout mechanism seems to clog; if I put my finger back there and give the balls a little shove they start moving down and fill the channel. Is this a cleaning issue or is there an adjustment I should make?

Thank you and, BTW, great forum! My kids love Rescue Dog more than Playstation 3 (and that's saying a lot)!

    clean all your balls

a solution of some CLR in really hot water does a good job.

swril them around to clean, rinse really good in hot water and dry by putting them in a towel and rolling around.

There are several things that can cause this kind of problem, as Luckydog said one of the commonest reasons is if the balls are dirty or sticky. It's also worth wiping down the channel that the balls run it to make sure there's nothing causing the balls to stick in there.

It can also be a levelling issue, if there's not enough slope for the balls to run freely down the channel. On some games (eg ones manufactured by Sankyo) this channel can be adjusted to some degree by loosening the screws and moving the end nearest the ball hopper exit up or down. On machines where the slope is fixed, then it may be that the whole machine is not quite level, which can be fixed by putting some packing between where the foot fixes to the frame (if it's free standing) or adjusting the wall cabinet.

Not sure since I don't have this machine, but the ball dump lever may not be fully closed (not sure where it is on this model).

I tracked the jam to the payout motor. I'm somewhat handy and removed the plastic cover, motor, motor housing and the payout "tumbler" that distributes the ball. There are two channels in this Sammy frame; there was, believe it or not, a small plastic shard that must of broken off from somewhere blocking one of the channels; I removed the shard, put everything together and now Rescue Dog is working perfectly.

I'd close the ticket if I knew how...

Also, one last question; what--or who--is the preferred ball vendor around here; I want to buy another 1000 balls.

    Thanks to all!
