I didn't know which forum this belonged in....

Is THIS the "Mud Room" cabinet from Target that y'all use as Pachislo stands?

Yes and no. I use a couple of those. But I use more of this one:

    http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B000084UQC

They both have advantages. The one you showed is a little bigger so there's room for a drink. But since it's bigger you can't fit as many machines in the same space. And, the smaller one is cheaper.

The smaller one as also just a little shorter. That makes it less good for playing standing up. But it is the perfect height for use with a cheap (under $10) stool that Wal-Mart sells. And, if you want a stool for every machine, and you've got 24 machines, cheap is good.

I need to clean and finish building the walls for my shop. I have over 1700.00 worth of wood working equipment and it just sits there. I could custom build tables. A non fancy stand for two or three machines would be half the price. To bad that old problem of not enough time keeps getting in the way. allthou I will have to do it soon, not to many days go buy that my wife doesn't remind me that all that money was spent on the equipment so I could finish the cabinets that the carpenter did not ether finish or made so many mistakes on that I need to redo them. He took over a year to give me what I got and most of it has to be redone. Imagine the number of cabinets in a SMALL condo. Then he wonted to be payed the full price still. Guess ware the money came from to buy the equipment? And the thing is I did not hire this out because I could not do them but rather I did not have the equipment to do the job right and the time to do it myself. I payed for all the materials had to pay for equipment and now get to do at least half of the work over, go figure! I bet you can't tell this is a hot subject for me :x . Laz.

For those of you looking for a two machine stand, a piece of furniture called a "dry bar" is perfect. Mine hold 2 machines. It is 32 inches tall.

If you want a really inexpensive way to support 8 machines take a look at this slot island. It's made from two 24" hollow core doors for the uprights, a 32" door for the top, and two 2 ft x 2ft cross braces. There's also an 18" door across the top of the machines to give it a finished look.

It's all held together with steel L-brackets. Eight machines supported for under $100, and I didn't have to cut a single board.

The top one linked to is my favorite. It's a taller stand at 30 inches and has some room on the side of the slot. A great place to set a drink. The other mudroom table is only 24 inches and just wide enough to fit the slot itself.

    Gwarzin:
Everytime I see the pics of your gameroom I want take a sledge and knock a doorway into the apartment next to mine and expand upon my little 2 br apartment so I can have room for more machines.
That room is one of the coolest I have ever seen!

I keep telling Gary that it is Gameroom Magazine front page quality.

I am very surprised that it hasn't been featured there yet.

I've actually already written the article for Gameroom and taken some photos. But, I've just finished rearranging a few things to make room the my Super Blackjack that arrived today and the Dance Night that will come in next Monday. When those arrive I plan to reshoot the pictures and submit the story and photos to Gameroom.

The ones in the photo are old Bally Bingo machines from the '50s. I also have 3 regular pinballs from the '60s, and old Bally Jockey Club one-ball horse race pinball. But the best of all is on old Mills machine from the '30s or 40's (I have the exact date somewhere - just can't recall it right now). The Mills looks like a pinball (with no flippers) but plays like a slot machine. The back glass is a 3 reel slot machine. You get one ball. As it works it's way down the playfield, each bumper it hits advances one of the reels. If the reels end on a paying combination, you are awarded a number of free games, which can be cashed in.
