Default CR Koda Kumi - "Fever Live in Hall"

The folks at Sankyo have been busy and have now introduced a "Koda Kumi" themed Pachinko for release in late July. She is arguably the most famous pop artist in Japan at this time, having won numerous music awards, and her strong drawing power made her an obvious choice for Sankyo.

Click on the "Enter" and then on one of the two (TVCM-1 or TVCM-2) video links in the lower left corner or use the direct video links listed below. You will catch a tantalizing glimpse of the new "Chestnut Stele" replacement frame for the much loved "Lumina" after it's successful three year run.

The marketing boys looking after her career have certainly done a number on her remarkable presence leaving my heart a-flutter. Her music is pleasant, but too shallow for my tastes. Let's hope that this Pachinko plays as well as she looks.

As fashion forward as she is, the new frame must be pretty slick if they are associating it with her. I had her autograph my Cutie Honey movie poster a year or so ago and she was really sweet. She signed it on the back, because she didn't want to mess up the poster.

There are already a few "coming soon" type promotional posters for the pachinko up on YJA. I might have my friend pick one up for me when he's over there next month. Maybe she'll sign that one on the front!

Her breakthrough seems to coincide with her work for the popular "Final Fantasy" franchise. Another claim to fame came when she covered the theme song for the "Cutie Honey" anime series.

As an interesting marketing move, Koda released 12 singles for 12 consecutive weeks, nine of which were limited to 50,000 copies. The jewel cases could then be put together to form a large image of her.

Apparently she is noted for being a fashion trendsetter in Japan.

I believe the version of the Cutey Honey theme used on the pachinko is sung by the woman who sang the original in the 70's. I've got a cd with 10-12 different versions of the song, and hers is always my least favorite. I think Kumi's version is my second favorite after the 90's version (which has more guitar)

Me likes Koda Kumi's singing. I've been hunting for her CD. I love the tracks above. How many songs are on the new one?

I'm not sure if I'm reading it correctly, but it seems you can select from 7 songs:

    I think you're right.

From that page the frame is named クリステラ which reads as kurisuteru. As it's written in katakana characters, it would indicate it's a foreign word, which I would guess as 'Crystal', which seems appropriate looking at the frame pictures. Also 'crystal' sounds so much better than 'chestnut stele', which is googles attempt at a translation

The official translation of the frame is "Crystella" which seems a logical progression from "Lumina".

Here are some pictures of the promotional poster, DVD and brochure.

I don't know about this frame.. It's looks an awful lot like the older Taiyo frames to me.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.
