Question Neo Magic Pulsar Game Mode Selection

    Hi Guys

I've just got a Neo Magic Pulsar machine and am really enjoying playing it. Mind you, the pumpkin beats the frog at each battle so far, but I'll just keep on trying.

Now my question is to do with the menu. looking at the published material there should be a "Game Mode selection" between the "BB Game Guide" and the "About Neo Magic Pulsar", but I can't find it on my machine. This should let me choose between "lots of machine actions" or "simple machine actions".

I've tried turning the reset key to "on " which adds a couple of new menu options (like setting date and time) but no "Game Mode Selection".

So, any guidance, advice etc would be gratefully received.

It should be there in yer menu somewhere.
You don't want to change it anyway. If you switch it, then the screen animations are practically non exsistant. And then boredom sets in, and then you have to go out and buy 3 more machines to make up for it.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

    Thanks Lddrizzt

That was probably what i wanted to know - I think I am/was concerned that it might be set in the lower graphics mode and that I would get loads on graphic action more than I was already getting - if you see what I mean.

I've got it in my workshop at present and am feeling the need to go and try to zap the pumpkin again.

    Cheers

    Hi Frank A

I wonder if your machine has the game mode selector that I am looking for set to the simple mode - as it seems that you only get the graphics screens when it is set to complex. I wish you luck finding it on the menu (with the reset key switched to on) - I still haven't found it on mine but as the game play is good I'm happy to leave well alone. (And my frog is still getting beaten by the pumpkin every time, but I will persist!)

An advanced search on Neo Magic menu (using our very own search tool... up there... on the nav bar... below the LOGO) helped uncover this:

    1. Turn on your Neo :-)
    2. Hit the left menu button in front of the screen 8 times to get to menu item #8. (Its the one right after (above) the menu item that starts with BB).
    3. Hit the right menu button to select
    4. You will see 3 options. The left frog is Neo Magic Pulsar mode. The right frog is King Pulsar mode. The center symbol is to exit with no change. Use your left menu button to highlight the one you want.
    5. Hit the right menu button to choose your highlighted selection.
    6. Hit left menu button 3 times to get you to item #11 which is exit (return).
    7. Hit right menu button to exit menu.
Does THAT help you in your quest?

Red face Re: Neo Magic Pulsar Game Mode Selection

I did the adjusting per logicprobes instructions and selected the frog with the crown on the right. There does seem to be a little more life in the game now. Is there a similar setting on Neo Planet ? I hit the bittons on the Neo Planet in the same sequence as the Magic Pulsar, but I don't have any idea as to what I selected. Help logicprobe !!!

Thanks Logicprobe. I played the King Pulsar mode tonight and it was neat. I didn't hit a BB but I'm going to try tomorrow.

FrankA: The King Pulsar mode has almost no effects and doesn't really compare to Magic Pulsar mode. In Magic mode you should get waving wands, pumpkin battles, the "pot drop" chance rounds, the magic pentagram, shooting stars, etc.........

I could search... or you could search...
    I like the second option.

That wasn't my instructions. I simply provided it after finding it... with a SEARCH.

Worst case, you can take some pics and hope that Rupan has time to translate your menus for you.

Or use the search. Maybe it's in the archives. Maybe it's not.

I'm pretty sure that I'm speaking for all of the mods and admins, when I say that a SEARCH is the best way to find things here. A lot of time and energy has gone into the forum... making it the best place for pachi info.

AND... I'm sure if you search long enough, you'll find people that agree with that, too.

Might have something to do with the fact that you are using quarters. THESE MACHINES ARE NOT DESIGNED TO USE QUARTERS. Use tokens like everyone else. We do not discuss the use of actual currency, the conversion to use currency, or anything related to it. Normally your post would be deleted, but I figured I would answer it instead just as a gentle reminder to all who read it.
Again please put your quarters in a jar and use the machine as it was intended.

    LogicProbe

Thanks for the advice, but I had already found the instructions. It's just that on my machine that I don't seem to have the relevant menu option (with or without the reset key turned to on). I've printed out all the images of the menus I can find to check but on my machine after the "BB" option is the "about" option (or the date/time set option with the reset key set to on).

But as my machine is (apparently) set to the full graphics game mode I'm not too fussed - and I still haven't beaten the pumpkin!!!

I did it just today. Lots of fun. Your not missing anything with the King Pulsar mode. The only thing I like about it so far is when the frog falls back in the water it makes a nice splashing sound.

So…. Raising the dead here…. But has anyone figured out how to make the Game Mode Options come up in the last 17 years? I have the same issue as the OP. I have every option, including time/date settings (which only goes to 2019). I saw something on another thread about the dip switches, but other than that I’m at a dead end.
