Getting My First Tattoo

Well, a friend of mine called me this morning, and informed me that tomorrow at 2 PM I have an appointment to get my first tattoo.

Joe has many tattoos and I told him that I'd never get a tattoo because I hate needles; not to mention, I told him I've never seen a tattoo that I could see myself keeping for life. Joe asked me if I were to find a tattoo that I really liked, if I would consider getting it? I calmly explained again, that I hated needles, and that it would have to be a really neat tattoo to change my mind.

That day Joe had me looking at hundreds of tattoos on the Internet, and wouldn't you know, ONE caught my eye. I tried to be very discrete about it, but Joe could tell that I liked it. He asked me if that was "the one". I sat there for a bit and finally said, yeah Joe, that's the one.

Once I had picked out "the one" Joe told me that when he had the money to do it, he was going to pay for me to get it, IF I still wanted it. Every so often, he'd ask if I still wanted it, or if I changed my mind. I assured him that I hadn't changed my mind, but that it makes me a bit nervous because I HATE needles (he just laughed and said it's really not as bad as people think).

Well, I guess tomorrow I'll find out just how bad it is, because I'm going to do it. aranoid:

well the best person to ask is probebly arby but from my own expireances there realy isnt anything to worry about i hate having jabs at the quaks but i promis this is a difrent sensation more a slight burning sensation and even that gose away aftre a few minuets there is no stabbing sensation like a jab from the Dr at all and the needles are that fine you can hardley see them

cap off to you for taking teh plundge it will be the first of a few im sure just liek pachis get the first and another will follow

Good Luck Willie, don't like needles myself (the wife is diabetic & has to inject herself 5 times a day & I cannot watch her doing it).

Not a big fan of Tattoos, but if its what you want go for it & good luck

That is what Joe tells me too, even though I tell him over and over that I'm only getting this one (he laughs at that too). Joe laughs a lot.

While this may seem like a good idea in theory, there is something you should know about Joe... he keeps a hammer near his PC, just in case he needs to make an "adjustment". I shudder to think how he might "adjust" a pachi if it didn't give him a big bonus when he wanted it.

Thanks Tony. The pictures may be a while in coming. I have a feeling that this process is going to take more than one visit, because it's a very colorful tattoo, and It'll be a fairly nice size, I think.

I've got 4 tattoos, the outline is problably the most painful. After the outline the area seems to go kinda numb. Its really not that bad, and its kinda addictive just like Pachislos and Pachinkos.

Anyway, Willie - whilst I am not a huge fan of Tattoos - (You would never find me with one!!!) I am intriqued by those that tell a story or mark some sort of experience and I am wondering if yours will in fact be Pachi Related!?

About 30 years ago, I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma on my back. After having a huge and ugly skin graft on a good-sized portion of my back, I decided to have a dragon watching my back. He's only been there for a few years now, but I have no regrets - he's kinda cute! The problem is that it is very addicting and a good thing that I live WAY too far north for most tattoo artists. Once in a while I get the urge to have another one done, but not knowing any of the shops very well, I usually stay clear of them.

Have fun with your tat - if its something that really means something to you, you will never regret it!

There is no personal story behind the tattoo I got, other than the fact that I'm proud to live in this great country of ours (even with it's many flaws). I'm proud that my father served in it's Army for 23 years, and I'm proud and thankful for all who have served in this nations military at any time. I guess the story behind my tattoo is, I'm a proud American, and this is just one way I chose to express that.
