As most of y'all know, I have been attempting to get videos, at least, decent videos of my machines to post for some time now. But the picture gods have been working against me from the start. First thing was the Kodak camera that also does videos, makes Quick Time movies. Not good, couldn't edit them, and small pictures.

To get into decent movies I needed to use my old JVC VHS-C camera. But then I needed to get a video capture card and a DVD burner. Did this and hooked it all up. Oops, I need a VHS recorder. Borrowed a VHS/DVD recorder combo from nephew Kyle, including a little 13 inch TV to use aas a monitor.

Yes, it all works...almost! Seems my old computer is USB 1.0 and I need 2.x. Okay, I buy a USB card, stick in the computer and voila, it works...almost!

Seems I have this very annoying "dancing elecard" thing bouncing around on the videos with the warning that my trial period had expired, thus rendering any videos useless. (I'm testing all this with a prerecorded home video, not actual Pachislo/Pachinko videos yet.)

Thanks to members here I cure the "dancing elecard" problem and figure I'm all set to begin with the videos. WRONG!

The JVC refuses to work. It won't keep the door closed TO work. Kyle come by, works on it, gets it running, leaves, I hit the record button and that D@MN door pops open again! But I did get about a minute of the "I'm An Angle" on tape. I'll test the video capture card with this. WRONG!

I turn on the computer and it decided 'now is the time to die!' It will boot, I can get online, but it's back to 300 BAUD days. It took over 2 hours to upload a few MOV videos to Alex's site! I can't even watch them on my computer, it's so slow.

Now it's new computer time. I pick the one I want, get it and wait for nephew Kyle to come over and help me set it up. My computer area went from this disaster

to this

in just a week. That's Kyle setting up new computer after we hauled out several large bags of trash, one computer desk, and other assorted tables and junk.

Before this, and after the JVC camera battle, Kyle brought over one of his Reporter cameras to video machines. Worked great...almost! Turns out this camera has a bad microphone, great picture, but no sound.

Meanwhile, CARP (Casino at Rita's Pier) is getting junked up with old computer and its various unused components, video equipment, and still to be installed goodies, witness

Then when the new computer is installed in its cleaned out spot, my favorite keyboard decides to quit. This was obvious when I tried to chat here. Kyle needs his VHS/DVD recorder back which means I need to buy one. Back to Wal-Mart for new recorder and I might as well get a new wireless mouse. He comes by after work and hooks up new VHS recorder. He goes home, I proceed to install the video capture software to test. It doesn't work!

I decide to go to bed and work on it Monday.

Oh, the new Dance Night from Big Bear? It's still in the unopened box in the living room!
