Holy crap this looks amazing!

A photo copier that will scan a japanese document and output english at the touch of a button!

The endless stream of engrish and lost in translation moments coming out of it are probably comedy gold!

Yeah, it doesn't work well. Cool idea, but the translation algorithms are about the same as, Babel Fish and Google, just as the article mentions. I work for a competitor company of Fuji Xerox, and we've seen the device in practice.

So if you are used to double-translating (you know, Japanese ==> Babel Fish English ==> Real English, then this is pretty cool as you won't have to type in as much. The device does have some issues with some multi-columned formats (like a newspaper format). It works about 80% of the time with that.

It would be fun to put a bunch of sheets through it to see what kind of goofy English it produces.
