    Post Onimusha 3 No Sync

    Hi All,

New member, new problem.. a familiar story I'm sure :-)

I picked up a Onimusha 3 Pachislo a few days back and have played it for a good number of hours getting to know it. During my first couple of days I noticed that I was not winning very often leading me to read here about changing the odds/resetting the game etc. I went through the reset process and moved the odds to 4 rather than 1!, immediately after I tried this and the odds seemed a little more in my favour. happy times!

The following day I set off again on a playing mission only to have the screen present the dreaded "No SYNC" message after a few minutes of play, several resets and pushing of connector pins later I have a machine which boots perfectly every time but after a random amount of time goes to "No SYNC" leaving the screen totally white. I should note that the game still plays and I can still credit up and win etc but there is obviously nothing on the main screen component except the white from having no sync.

    Any thoughts please?

could it be overheating, is the fan running to keep the screen cool?

Onimusha 3 machines have a high speed fan running all the time by the screen, so they must run pretty hot

Thanks for the replys, The fan is running (assuming this is the one at the top of the front door) so I'm unsure if it is the screen itsself which is having a problem or the game. I'm assuming the spinning of reels/counting of credits and general ability to play even after the screen has gone no sync point more in the direction of the screen rather than the game board?

After a few runs of unplugging and replugging connectors I managed to get the machine stable and playing I then moved it into its permantnet location and its NO SYNCing again GRRRR

I'm not clear which board's drive the screen/game can anyone point me toward those boards so I can narrow down my connector investigation.

    Thanks

Hello golferdude and welcome to the group

I don't know if the other members are still around or if they ever resolved the display issue. I saved these threads in the past in case I had a problem similar to yours. Might be worth reading if you haven't already.

An under powered transformer could cause problems. Have you always had the problem or was everything okay until recent use? For an example with my first electronic pachinko it ran fine until more demand was put on the power supply about half way thru a fever round. At that point, the video would phase in and out and then totally go blank. I later found that the transformer only put out 1.4 amps and a 4.0 amp transformer took care of everything. I imagine that the same kind of problem could happen with a pachislo.

Can you see what the amp number is on the transformer? I have an Ultraman Club ST pachislo which I believe is similar to your model for the mechanical make up. My machine had a 5.0 amp installed in it when I received it and there has not been any trouble yet.

its a SM6-24-1C. Pretty hot running. can some of it not be sending power like burned up. sometimes in real action and load sound there would be a buzz and the video would go back to not recognised 31hz 0 v message. right now thats all it is doing. thanks.

Have you tried this while playing the machine? can you see any images?

Take a good flashlight and shine it closely on the screen trying different angles to see if you can see any images on the screen. It could be the inverter board, or the backlight on the panel itself. From: MrGoodBurn 08/29/08

I wish I had the same machine so I could study it some more or even mimic the problem. I'd hate to recommend something not knowing what the next best step is. All I could go with is the prior links I posted. I bookmarked those in case I had a similar problem so I'd have a starting point.

If it did come down to the transformer then you should look for a data plate. It is usually black and silver, and metal or foil adhered to the back of the case if not elsewhere. This will give you an idea of what amperage you should have in a transformer. For an example I have used some of these for older pachinko machines not requiring a higher output. https://blackhawksupply.com/collecti...cts/tr150va002

Hopefully someone else will be along soon that has experienced the same issue that you are having and can better guide you. Perhaps someone lives near you and can help out with a temporary transformer to see if it helps before you spend the money on one in case it isn't the problem. That is if you care to share where you live or private message me if you live in Michigan.

You could also check over at pachisloDB for help as they are big into pachislos as well.

Wayne is a good guy and I had hoped that he saw your post. He has a lot of experience and a wide variety of machines. I hope the transformer takes care of the problem.

Come back later on and let us know how things worked out.
