    Default Contemplating cases...

So with my ever going Pachinko collection- I am contemplating cases and have perused the posts here- definatly stealing ideas to use on my fabrications-

I have noticed with the variety of machines I now own- each one sites differently- some "lean back" more than others and some sit plumb and true- My question is: Can I build my cases so all machines installed in them are plumb? I'm assuming that is the way they were built to be played and through the years ( and in one case- some shimming of feet by previous owners) some have attained the "pachinko lean"

Any feedback as I venture into casemaking and dust off my woodworking tools??

I think all pachinko machines are designed to lean back 1-2 degrees. Although all of my cabinets are dead level all the machines lean back a small amount. Its built in at the pachinko factory.

I have found on some (but not all) machines that the 1-2 degree tilt is needed for the levers and mechanisms in the back to function correctly, as well as to allow the balls to flow through the machine as designed. Some machines will not play when perfectly upright, while others will.

I recall a discussion thread on this site early last year where this topic was discussed/debated, and the concensus was that machines installed in parlors had at least a 2 degree tilt for correct play.

That said, I believe most of the frames on the vintages have the tilt built in.
