    Default Ultraman Error

I got Ultraman into a 777 fever mode and I basically tried to see how many balls I could win. I let the upper hopper empty and simply watched the "IOU" meter go up. After a point though it showed an error message underneath the button you press to empty the balls. I emptied the balls out from the front but the error was still there. There was also a light appearing where the balls exit from the front of the machine. I then filled the back hopper but the machine did not pay out any remaining balls. It did however play "normally" if I flipped a ball and it went into the center section it would pay those out and also started the video stuff. On the back where the error leds are the one furthest to the left was flashing. I could not see any obstructions anywhere. I finally did a reset (held button and turned machine on) and it was fine. I am just trying to figure out what it thought was wrong and if I could have resolved it without restarting the machine.

there are 2 ball tracks, one for regular payouts and the other for fever payouts.

you may have a ball jam on the fever one.

have you tried a full ball dump?? make sure you have something ready to catch them

But a ball jam would not be solved by simply resetting the machine would it?

if the upper hopper is empty and the counter is running, how can it jam? It might be a parlor error because the machine went so over the counter limit... just a guess as I have never witnessed this on Ultraman.
This game induces a kind of hypnosis, a strange feeling of happiness. Winning is hardly important. But, time passes. You lose touch with yourself for a while, and merge with a machine and perhaps you forget, what you always wanted to forget.....

Well the number did go over 999 and then went to - - - about the same time the error began.

    Hi

If you allow the machine to "owe" you so many balls that the counter goes to 999... You need to reset the machine. This would happen whether you were in the middle of a fever, or in normal play mode.

    Have you reset the machine?

Yes, I reset the machine by holding in the red button while powering the machine on. It said something in Japanese and then went into its normal screaming/siren startup.

Are there balls in the hopper, and the ramp running to the ball dispenser (clear ramp with 2 rows of balls) ?

Yes. The error condition has not returned after the machine was reset.

    oh cool

Yeah - there is no other way (manually) to fix that. The parlours would probably be able send a soft reset to the frame, but I am not positive.
